She hurried to leave, her patience was thinning with every second, seeing the face her mother made as if she fell from sky.
“Fake? How could you say that?” Mrs. Davenport shouted so loud, Amy flinched for a second. Davenport sat behind her when Amy halted, her hand on the door of her room, another one clutching her bag tight.
“Ain’t it, mum?” Amy turned her face to see her pleading face behind, “You never cared, did you?”
Amy left, running down the stairs. Her eyes fell on the side where Owen sat, comfortably reading a magazine. He must have heard everything she yelled upstairs. Her face flushed even more than she reached the last step and someone pulled her arm, swinging her handbag around.
