I’m right here.” Monique looked at her scared daughter when in fact she was terrified herself. “Let’s sing a song, shall we?” Monique tried to cheer her up and started singing. “Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are…” Little Nomi’s fear subsided as her mother sang. One guy died last year," Simon said, his eyes shining with amusement. Harriet listened, but she didn't look scared. She was looking at her car, a simple silver Mazda. She touched it. It looked old, but she could tell it had been taken care of. The tires were good. The engine sounded smooth and strong.

The whole time this enormous creature is staring directly at me, while pacing back and forth on the other side of the border. Even if the monster is almost half a metre taller than me, I still don't fear it. I walk slowly and composed to the edge, calmly I meet the green eyes staring at me, filled with hatred. With a high and clear voice I start singing for the wind while reaching my hands towards the sky. I am ready to take the fight. The wind blows up when I close my eyes and sing out an unknown song. The power beams through my body and the feeling of power gives me the strength to feed the wind. The monster roars in anger, but it can't break my concentration and I keep singing.

But what scared me wasn't the ritual tomorrow, or losing the child. It was the mystery hidden behind all this. Kael gently wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his embrace.
