The explosions were massive, bright orange fire filled the air, and many monsters were blown to pieces. But as the smoke cleared, Naelis’s heart sank. Even though hundreds of monsters died, the remaining ones did not move. Instead, they quickly adjusted their positions and stepped over the dead bodies of the others and closed the gaps, continuing to shield the altar with their own bodies.
