I flinched violently. That wasn’t subtle. That wasn’t careful. That was a distraction. My breath caught. “No…” My feet moved before my brain could catch up. Down the stairs. Fast. Too fast. I rounded the corner into the living room— And stopped cold. The back door was open. Wide open. Wind pushed the curtains inward, making them ripple like ghosts. Security wouldn’t leave that open. They wouldn’t— A hand clamped over my mouth. I screamed—but it came out muffled.

"It’s in the walls of this house. And I’m the only one who knows the sequence." I looked at Dominic and Killian. "Kill him," I commanded. "Kill him, and maybe I’ll let one of you live long enough to see your child." The shift in the room was instantaneous. The two monsters didn't hesitate. They didn't argue. They turned on Miller with a synchronized brutality that was beautiful and horrifying to behold. As the sounds of bone breaking and muffled screams filled the library, I picked up the laptop and slipped out through the broken glass into the freezing Highland rain.

Vanessa paled. The monster she thought she controlled… had turned toward her. And he wasn’t playing anymore. As Lucien walked away from the grave, his phone buzzed in his pocket. A message. No name. He’s already dressed in uniform. My office feels cramped with him standing over my shoulder. The office isn’t big in general, but now I’m suffocating. I stand and walk toward my coal-covered couch on the far wall. Stopping in front of the coffee table, I pick up an all black mug. Coffee swirls. Moving toward the refrigerator that I ordered last Christmas, I smell the stale coffee. As I heat it up, Caleb plants himself on the couch. We know the video is fake, and you are desperate. Get to the fucking point. NOW!”

Another woman, an Asian in fighting gear, spoke up. "Yes, we have." Celia said. "But this time....it is much more serious." "And why is that?" Gerold asked. Maddie watched as Celia took a shaky breath, then continued. "You all saw what happened on my daughter's birthday, did you not? You all were present, as this girl," she pointed to Maddie. "Invited demons into our basement. Shadow Monsters, the likes of which we have never seen before. It was all we could do to keep those monsters away. Several Hunters lost their lives! Several others were terribly injured."

"I gave you the chance to prove yourself to me, despite what you did to me in the past. But now you've only confirmed you're a monster. It is over between us!" Her words slammed into me, shaking me to my core. My eyes lit up in shock, I couldn't get myself to say another word. The weight of what I heard left me speechless. Then she walked away, and slammed the door behind her, leaving me rooted to my spot in total bewilderment. What do I do? I dropped to my knees as tears rolled down my cheeks, all I heard were her last words that kept replaying in my head. 'A Monster' 'It's over! It's OVER!'

It seemed empty since we couldn't see anything in it from a distance because everyone had walked away from it before. We all held hands and walked towards it to check what was inside. But before we could go near, the box fell to the ground and a small rat ran from it. "This can't be happening. No! No! No! "My mom shouted the moment she saw a rat "What are you saying mother?"I asked. "It's him."she replied, she looked terrified and anyone could sense she knew something about the rat. "What are you saying Jess?" Mr Smith asked when he noticed she looked bothered.

Liv led the parade of dragons, although the red and blue ones stayed behind Danny and Amelia. Simultaneously, as Damonq leapt into the air, coming down with his fist driving forward straight through bone and sinew to find the monster’s heart, three missiles flew straight to the monsters waiting for the children. Rolling in the air as they flew, flames erupted and they burst through their chests, straight to the hearts, incinerating all three on contact. The monsters stood with their mouths open, shocked looks on their faces, and then they toppled backward. The grate fell, covering the hole, and with it dropped the side of the building, revealing a cavernous lift.
