I wait til I hear feel the cold air drifting into the kitchen and the soft sound of a door closing before glancing into the hallway again. Through the doors glass I could see Embers back to me. The left side of her body was eliminated white from the moon and her hair looked like silver threads as they hung down her back. Creeping towards the door she shifts and a second later a see a silvery gold wolf dashing across the snow, her body low as she ran.

“What are your plans regarding the Blood Moon pack?” While Lyra was still lost in thought, the older woman continued, “We’ve never interacted with outsiders. For decades, apart from you, no one else has entered the depths of Moonshade Valley. Isn’t your decision this time too risky?” Lyra slowly turned the cup in her hand and replied calmly, “Aunt Meala, the Blood Moon territory contains numerous moonstone mines. I’ve heard they have so much that they even use it to decorate their walls.” Meala frowned slightly. A moment of silence stretched between the two women.

With the massive city in the middle and surrounding the city were the blocks of artificial biomes. Outside of those biomes is phase two of Stardust City, which is much larger than phase one and was connected at it at six major points. Around phase two will also be another ring of Artificial Biomes. The Moon forest that stretched from inside phase one, into the biome ring and into phase two. The forest is the lungs of Stardust City and will span millions of hectares. There will also be a second Moon Forest on the other side of the City in the future. There was a Moon Pavilion in every manor for additional support.

The moon represents love, coldness, and compassion. Watching everything from afar, it holds all the mysteries of the world. Being the oldest guards of the world, it protects humans from the dead and profane creatures that are hiding under the dark with its silvery light. But that day there's no moon and moonlight. It's completely dark in that eerie midnight. The place was weirdly silent and cold, perhaps the air and the trees know what type of merciless act going to happen there. Tides moved slowly in fear and no other creature is awake to witness it.

Lynx scrambled away, still laughing even as Nathaniel chased him through the underbrush, sparks flying from his fingertips. Lalaine shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips. That means Dante would have to spend his time wandering the lore alone , that is if the moon goddess doesn’t kill him. Dust clouded the air as the ancient book hit the floor with a hollow thud, its cracked leather cover splitting at the seam. I didn’t flinch. Instead, my lips curved into a slow, sweet and satisfied smile, one that didn’t quite reach my eyes. “Blood Moon... hybrids” I calmly murmured under my breath, reading the title aloud like it was a prophecy. “Its been a while since I went on a hunting spree.” "All it takes is one swift and clean motion and the lore would actually burn to ashes while I stand on the edge of the destruction and watch."

The first line snagged my breath: “Where the Lock bleeds and the Keyhole binds, the Door will open. And beyond it waits the Nameless Moon.” My throat tightened. I read on, entranced. “The Nameless Moon is not a god. It is not a beast. It is what remains after the First Wolf devoured the sky and choked on the stars. It is hunger, memory, madness. And it does not knock. The moon hung bloated and silver above us, casting a light so sharp it turned the swirling black fog into jagged shards of shadow. Malachi walked beside me, his presence a heavy, grounding heat that felt like a shield against the vacuum of the North. Behind us, Kaelen and twelve of the Obsidian Elite moved in a perfect, silent arc, their blades drawn and glowing with a faint blue luminescence. We turn at the same time to see Luka stepping out from the forest, his gold-tinted curls blowing about his face, his brown eyes wide with wonder at the sight of the river. He walks past, still not seeing us. Darius and I look at each other, then scramble up to follow him. Luka stops at the top of the river embankment. He passes his hand over his eyes. When he drops his hand again, he opens his eyes and they are a milky grey colour. The glow disappears from the sky and in the darkness a full moon rises. Not just any moon. I recognize this moon. So pale, so clear, it appears as if behind a layer of ice. The first full moon of the new year. The Wolf Moon.
