Mira’s POV, The library was in the same condition as the last time I had come here with Kyden. Since returning to the Shadowmoon, I started almost every morning here, wandering through the rows of shelves filled with ancient manuscripts. Most of them were covered with tons of dirt, away from human touch for ages. The scent of aged parchment and dried ink filled my lungs as I stepped inside, dust motes swirling lazily in the shafts of sunlight streaming through the tall windows. It was, as usual, quiet and empty, in perfect condition where I could lose myself in searching for my answers.

He slipped the phone out, shielding the screen. Three new messages. He’ll suffocate you, moonlight. I’ll show you freedom. You want to say no, but your body already betrayed you. Meet me. One chance. Midnight. The old library wing. Eliot’s stomach dropped. Midnight. The words burned into him like fire. He should delete them. He should erase Damien from his life before Theo noticed. But his thumb lingered over the screen, trembling, betraying the truth he refused to say aloud. He wanted to go.

Eve’s POV The night looked as though it had been bleeding. From my window, I stared at the moon hanging low and swollen in the sky, the light from it had turned the forest into shades of crimson. This was what the wolves called the blood moon. I always wondered if it was only a legend but today I worry that it might just be an omen. “He’s near.”my wolf whispered in what sounded like she was afraid. “Who?” I whispered back, but she only growled.

And Aria—mother, Luna, flamewalker—could only cling to the vow Xander had made on the mountain: We face it together. Or we fall apart. She was just returning from the council hall when she saw them—Rowan and Mira—standing in front of the Library of the Ancients. The oldest building in Moonrise. It squatted at the edge of the village like a forgotten sentinel—half-buried in stone, its roof moss-covered, the runes carved deep into its door nearly swallowed by time. Most wolves passed it with reverence. Few ever entered. Within its walls slept the bones of knowledge—scrolls that whispered and books that wept when touched.

Lyra Helena and I spend three days sorting out the boxes filled with books and as we stand there proud of our handy work, I feel a sense of accomplishment. Not that we’ve accomplished something huge, but we did turn an old storeroom into a small library. We each grab a book and find a seat and I immediately get to work. Sadly, life intervenes and I have to rush off to sort out a problem between two omegas. I have just returned and started reading when Hunter starts to cry, and I have to take care of him.

“More than a front man, but don’t tell him that.” I laughed, unable to help myself. Did Armageddon think he was in charge or was this some sort of inside joke? “I’m elevating your access to the Moon Shadow and Blue Moon library. You’ll have about the same access as Armageddon starting tonight.” I stared at her. “Meaning?” “Well, you won’t have to lug this around,” she said lifting the Moon Goddess book. “Impressive that you managed to find a copy.” I shook my head. “It was… in the library.”

There was a part of my mind that kept asking, 'what if it's possible? But it went against everything that I have believed all my life. Not like I believed in anything anyway. I was more inclined to go with logic than any of that spiritual nonsense that these werewolves believed in. But my mind traveled back to when I had encountered Selene, the one that introduced herself as the moon goddess. That experience felt all too real for me to just ignore; even as I thought of her, I could still feel the aura she came with that day.

The guard stammers as he replies, “About ten minutes ago, Alpha. They went to the Moonshadow library.” The Alpha’s jaw tightens at the thought of the ancient library, and he struggles to keep a stoic expression. His rising anger as he thought of how Lana’s safety could be complicated in such a public place because of the moron before him. “Why would they go to the library at a time like this?” “Wel, uhm…” The guard hesitates for a moment before he continues, “they want to learn more about the Blue Moon. Damon’s penetrating gaze narrows, “The Blue Moon? Why?”

Quite brutally, to be frank, by our librarian. “How many times do I have to tell you that the library isn’t a place for you to sleep in, Miss Sinclair?” “Apologies,” I muttered softly, only because I’d like to be able to return tomorrow. There was no other place in the University that provided this level of quietness and solace as much as the library did. Furthermore, this place held a special place in my heart. This was the place where I’d first met the Goddess of the Moon, Selene.
