I have been seated for over five hours in the damn library with nothing to eat or drink as I read the old books and papers with a smell that makes me want to puke. My eyes have not dared to close on me as I read the thirtieth book. I have not found any useful information that can locate the blood moonstone and finish this once and for all.

Little orbs of light floated above, glowing soft gold, bobbing like fireflies. A desk sat in the corner, a sprig of Moonshade in a vase atop it—its petals shimmered, and its scent shifted as I moved, first jasmine, then clove, then something earthy I couldn’t name. With the last book touched by my fingertips, I decided to leave for today and return tomorrow early, to browse properly this time. When I looked at the big glass window of the library, the moon was already up, giving a majestic glow into the room, multiplied by the glass as it gives that surreal feel when passing by. The ornaments laid out in the sofas and tables placed in front of the glass window glints by the moonlight, as if they’re gems and jewels. Even the little pieces of glass that stood like a little mountain by the table. ‘Wait, little piece of glasses?’

I had been worried that there would be armed guards all over the campus as we headed for the library. However, I was surprised to find that the we only caught glimpses of them as they seemed to stick to the edge of the campus. I also saw more students than I expected to see. It wasn’t a lot, but for such a late hour, with the city destabilized, it was enough to wonder. Lyla led us straight to the library. She said it was probably the best place to start recruiting anyway. So, while I started to look into this whole blood moon business, they would start getting our distraction in place.
