POV: Lucian The moon-library sits beneath the citadel, carved into living rock. Lucian discovered it three days ago while exploring passages his mother doesn't know he's found. Torches burn in iron sconces, casting dancing shadows across rows of ancient scrolls and crumbling books. Lucian runs his fingers along the spines, reading titles in languages he barely understands. Some are wolf-tongue, the old dialect. Others look even older, symbols that hurt to look at too long.

Kane ruffled Jim’s hair approvingly, while Luke fussed over Fiona like she was made of glass, murmuring for her to rest. I stood there, invisible. They were the perfect family—warm, whole, united. And I? I was the spare part, the forgotten shadow. Not a single glance. Not a word. So I left. I walked toward Moon Lake, the place I’d begged them to take me for years. "Next summer," they’d always said, "when things are less busy." Lies. Empty promises. Now, I’d go alone. But my body betrayed me. Maya's POV The library's third floor was my sanctuary at eleven PM on a Thursday night. Most students avoided it, too quiet, too isolated, supposedly haunted according to campus legend. Perfect for me. I adjusted my reading lamp and returned to my herbology textbook, highlighting a passage about moonflower properties. Dr. Chen's research project was consuming most of my free time, but I loved it. Something about losing myself in the science of healing plants made everything else fade away. Ignoring the thorns and rough tree barks, that pickled me, I ran like my life depended on it.

The time had come to face it and accept it. I stood in Kingston’s vast library, the ancient tome open before me on the heavy wooden table, the golden moon emblem on the page glowing faintly. My fingers trembled as I read the words aloud again, as if saying them too many times would make them more believable: “The Moon’s Daughter shall rise with the moon’s divine light in her blood to bring unity in her name. Only beside her true mate shall the veil lift, and the scattered packs of humans, hybrids, and wolves shall stand as one beneath her light and the great Moon.”

“They will be fine, the path between Moonlight and Dark Forest is well patrolled and safe to begin with. It’s the one upside to living away from the majority of the hustle and bustle of Humans and larger cities.” “I know. It was the Luna’s Library and housed the more important books and papers. The library. “C’mon, Devon!” As we entered the library, I wasn’t surprised anymore when we saw the Moonlight Mirror resting in the middle of the vast room. The pale moonlight penetrated the glass roof of the library. The pale moonlight illuminated the object like a spotlight, causing my twin brother and me to gasp in awe as we sneakily stepped inside the room to admire the beauty of the ornament.

"So, moonlight isn't just sunlight bouncing off the moon; it's like a transformed version of sunlight, carrying a different energy?" "Exactly!" She nodded, pleased with my understanding. "It's like the moon's own version of sunlight, altered and imbued with a unique essence as it journeys through space and time before reaching us here on Earth. Natalia The Bloodmoon library had quickly turned into my favorite spot in the compound. It was quiet and cozy, the skylights carved into the rock high above casting little pools of golden sunlight onto the stone floors. Most of all, the smell of books and scrolls—both those who had been meticulously protected during the exodus over a hundred years ago by the highly-skilled librarians as well as newer ones—soothed me. Plus, it was quiet and peaceful here, and few people aside from the librarians in their heavy black robes came here.
