--- Morning sunlight filtered through the windows of Hart Atelier. Aria tried to focus on her newest design. She couldn't. Every sound made her glance toward the door. Every unfamiliar face in the hallway caught her attention. The photograph from the previous night remained locked inside her desk drawer. She hadn't told Vivian. She hadn't told Ethan. She had barely slept. A soft knock interrupted her thoughts. Vivian stepped inside carrying two cups of tea. "I thought you might need this." Aria accepted the cup with a grateful smile. "Thank you."

I spent the night in Eastoria and was not caught in the battle. When I got there, the sight was horrifying. There were dead bodies and injured people everywhere. They could only groan weakly when they saw me, but I knew right away that I could not help them. All I could do was give the mothers and their babies a special pill to ease their pain and help them find a little peace before they passed away. I arrived at the meeting spot by evening, where the smell of blood was even stronger than it was at the airport. I had just slipped into my special doctor's coat when two guards in black rushed me into surgery.

Mia's phone began ringing that instant, and she told him to excuse her, before pulling the phone out of her backpack, and gently slammed it against her ear. After speaking few words into the phone, she kept it back inside her backpack, before looking up at him. "Sorry for the interruption. Those were my cousins. They're waiting for me outside." She told him, fidgeting with her small hands tentatively. He nodded, resting back into his seat. Then he said. "You're to resume by 8:30AM every morning. And we close by 9PM, or sometimes 10. You would have your shifts as well."

“I want to. I know you haven’t accepted me, but you’re my mate. I want to take care of you and your daughter. I don’t know anything about babies, so you’ll have to help me figure out what you need for her.” “Diapers,” Margot and Eve say at the same time. “Diapers and clothes I’m guessing,” I look back down at Dawn. “I’m sure we have some in storage that we can use, but tomorrow, we’ll order everything that you need.” I look up to see Eve frowning at me and Margot smiling at me. “Ready ladies?” “Yes. Let’s go. We have just enough time to get settled before dinner,” Margot says, sliding her arm through Eve’s.”

The morning sunlight attacked me like it had been waiting all night for this exact moment. Right through my thin curtains, stabbing me in the face like I’d personally offended the sun. I groaned and rolled over, pulling the blanket over my head. Not today. Please not today. But the second I shut my eyes, last night came rushing back. The alley. The men. Him. And that voice, low and final: “Doom has begun.” I sat up so fast my pillow hit the floor. My heart thudded against my ribs, too loud for morning.

Before she could finish, Elijah raised his hand and slapped her hard across the face. “Nonsense! There is no pretending. Sadie is your real savior!” This time, Thea became confused. “How is that possible? She’s clearly an imposter. Cassie is the one who saved me!” Elijah narrowed his eyes. “Who told you that? To protect the identity of the real donor, I never revealed who saved you. I even ordered everyone involved to keep it strictly confidential.” Thea fell silent for a moment. Under Elijah’s pressure, she finally admitted the truth.

Everyone was bustling about, and no one noticed that I had just awakened. I looked up and caught sight of the wall clock. Only one hour remained before I would have to return to the future. On the small hospital TV, they were replaying footage of last night's once-in-a-century meteor shower. The shooting stars were beautiful, but unfortunately, I had missed them again. Indeed, it seemed my wishes were destined to remain unfulfilled. I was lost in thought until footsteps approached, followed by Sophia's tired yet joyful voice. "You're awake. Ethan has regained consciousness too, thanks to your timely blood donation last night."

******************************************** *JAMIN* The microwave let out a soft beep, and I opened it, the smell of freshly reheated pancakes and bacon drifting into the kitchen. Betsy had said she prepared a lot of meals before leaving yesterday, so all I had to do was heat up any food I wanted. Today was her day off. I was reaching for a plate when footsteps echoed behind me. “Morning, Betsy, about what…” I blinked before turning around. It was Gary. “Oh, sorry, I thought Betsy was in here.” “It’s her day off.” I informed him. “Do you know what the Mister would like to have for breakfast?”

I smile and dismiss him telling him id have my people get with his and finished my paperwork for the rest of the day. The rest of the week, was paperwork and business, nothing eventful happened not until my last day. *My last day* My last day was like any other boring and uneventful. Except I was visited by Mr. Trounce. I stand to shake his hand, “Mr. Trounce what can i do for you today?” he sits in front of my desk in the chair, “Call me Brent. I came to warn you my daughter left the hospital against the doctors orders and is considered a danger to the public they are looking for her but the loss of the baby has caused her to be mentally unstable and i fear she will come after you.”
