My Dad's Bestfriend

My Dad's Bestfriend

he called back, his voice warm as sunlight. The sound of the door clicking shut was the last thing I heard before sleep reclaimed me, pulling me back into its embrace. *** I found myself rummaging through a stack of books that likely belonged to Jacob from his university years. None of them were fiction. These were all about life lessons and self-improvement. Titles like Rich Mindset and Atomic Habits caught my eye, their well-worn spines suggesting they had been thoroughly read. But one title stood out above the rest, stopping me cold:

this book is moving backwards. 2nd book Evelyn was being dumb as fack now on 3rd Jacob is acting like a dumb teenager who left his company which barely survived from Tyler just to run after his dumb & extremely immature ex gf who’s playing hard to get and does this stupid and immature games.

Okay we are just sitting waiting twiddling our thumbs. These authors should not release a book until it’s finished.Or better yet this platform needs to release more chapters. We have a family and commitments we need to attend. But if they want our money release more chapters finish the book thank you.

Sold to the Ruthless Lycan king (The Lycan's flame).

Only two seem to be nonfiction and self help books, yet when i check what content they will be self helping me with i feel surprise running through me. "The delicate art of seduction and manipulation." I fling that one to a corner of the room and pick up the other. "How to make men beg for a chance to fuck you." I fling that one even harder and it joins its partner on the floor near my wardrobe. There are four remaining. Four novels which I have two days to myself to devour. The smile that works its way up my face is radiant. I'm going to have such a good time.

My Mafia Master: the alpha's dark desires

I even found the karma sutra amongst what I can only classify as the ‘self help’ section, opening it and then quickly closing it in case Enzo or his mother entered the room. A large book at the end of the shelf entitled “The Power and Responsibility of Men” caught my eye. It seemed to be more weathered than the rest of the books, but I didn't get why. “Who would be drawn to a book like that?” I asked myself, pulling it from the shelf.

Devil In Disguise

Devil In Disguise

Before we returned to the hotel, Curtis bought me a few books he said would keep me busy during his conference calls. I wanted to gag at the sight of what he had selected. Why did I let him buy his own selection? Right. Because I wasn’t much of a reader. I knew nothing about books—but I also knew at first glance that a self help book published in 1825 was not going to interest me. I checked the others and realized the latest one was published in 1850. Was my husband reincarnated from the nineteenth century? Well, that was the only choice I had. Either that or try to listen in on his conference call. Knowing it wasn’t going to be of much help, I opened the first book.

The Billiinaire's Betrayal

I chuckled, she must be hungry and I don't have the heart to wake her up unless she wakes up herself. I picked up the book I was reading. It's a motivational book titled 'FINDING MYSELF'. After the birth of my child, I was so down that I thought I had everything under control. I almost lost myself in the whole thing. I was glad I have Martha and Bella who helped me out through the whole process.

The Way He Looked at Me

The Way He Looked at Me

Rachel nods thoughtfully. “Ah,” she says. “Medical reasons.” “Exactly.” She pushes open the door. She understands. After all, she’s the one who introduced me to the healing power of touching brand-new books. We start in the psychology section, as tradition demands. But we abandon it quickly. The covers are terrible. Way too serious. And most importantly: zero embossed lettering. From there we wander into the self-help aisle. I begin scanning titles desperately, hoping to find something useful.

Except for Eli. He was sitting at register three, legs kicked up on the counter, sipping coffee from a thermos shaped like a rocket ship. “Did we swap personalities?” she asked, setting her bag down. “I couldn’t sleep,” he said. “So I figured I’d alphabetize the self-help books by level of delusion.” Callie arched a brow. “What’s top of the list?” “‘Manifesting for Millionaires.’ Right above ‘Confidence in Six Minutes or Less.’”

Meant To Be HIS

Meant To Be HIS

Our counseling sessions had continued, not because there was anything wrong going on between Damien and I but because I needed answers for future issues. "We're both growing and sometimes I fear us backsliding and giving up on Christianity because of how clueless we are." I opened up to her. "The solution to this is to commit to growing. Through more time spent fellowshipping with the brethren and giving yourself to study. There are several Christian books that can guide you on your journey and the Bible is the number one book to look to. It is God's Word." She said. I nodded, "Book recommendations?" "Sure." I took out my journal and jotted down a list of books as she mentioned the names and

Really good follow on from the first book and I love how you have incorporated Christ in this book & their love story. As a growing Christian this was lovely to read, it didn’t have as much steam as the first book I can understand why but definitely drama filled.

Rebirth: Ice Queen

Rebirth: Ice Queen

But I don't need luck, nor am i a weirdo because this all curiosity and been curious is normal. I decided to consult the experts (aka G****e and self-help books) to understand this emotional rollercoaster I'm on. I devoured books like "The Art of Emotional Intelligence" by Daniel Goleman, "The Gifts of Imperfection" by Brené Brown, and "Attached" by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller I even stumbled upon some quirky ones like "The Science of Kissing" by Sheril Kirshenbaum (who knew there was a whole book about kissing?!). Armed with new knowledge, I felt slightly more prepared to tackle my emotional chaos. But, let's be real, I was still a hot mess. I needed human interaction, specifically with t

Then he sighed. Leaning forward, he rested his arms on the table. He gave her his most serious gaze, and his voice did that sexy rumble when he spoke. “Honestly, I think most books like that are silly and a bit cringe, Liv. I feel that way about a lot of self help books,”

I’ve found a few gems that truly stand out. 'Atomic Habits' by James Clear is a game-changer—it breaks down how tiny changes can lead to massive results over time. Another favorite is 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck' by Mark Manson, which flips the script on traditional self-help by teaching you to focus on what really matters.

For those who love a mix of science and practicality, 'Mindset' by Carol Dweck is a must-read. It explores how adopting a growth mindset can transform your life. If you’re into deeper introspection, 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle offers a spiritual take on living in the present moment. And don’t overlook 'Grit' by Angela Duckworth, which proves that passion and perseverance outweigh talent. Each of these books has shaped my perspective in unique ways, and I can’t recommend them enough for anyone looking to level up their life.
