Rage's face lit up with a radiant smile as he took my hand in his, his eyes shining with tears of joy. "My Queen, I am immortal, my years are 900 in all," Rage said, his voice filled with emotion. "You are the first one to ever give me a child!" I kissed his lips, and he responded with fervor, devouring me with all the passion he possessed. His hands gently touched my belly, his eyes shining with pride. His older brother, Storm, and younger brother, Rett, and the rest of his men, applauded loudly, their cheers and whistles filling the air. Niklaus joined us, hugging me tight and pulling Rage into the embrace, a rare display of affection from him.

One of the rogues exclaims, his voice shaking as they all gawk at Kendra like she is some sea monster. Moon Rage is a heightened state a wolf can enter when their emotions are so high. It usually occurs with anger. A few wolves can access this state, and among the few, most access it during the full moon. For the brunette to enter the state without the aid of the full moon makes her extraordinary. "I am going to kill you," Kendra snarls, taking a step toward Egor. "Stop her!" Egor yells and begins to withdraw from the room.

A howl sounds some distance in the front, just at the same time a group of rogues leap out of the bushes. I spring into motion immediately, all my training kicking in. I knock the first one down just before he shifts into his wolf, wrapping the wire around his neck and pulling hard. Suddenly, the clearing is a battlefield. Weapons clash against weapon, rogues fall down. I roll to the side, avoiding the snapping of fangs as a wolf lands where I stood a second ago. From the corner of my eye, I see Ragnar watching it all from the sidelines, like a messenger of death himself.
