I wasn’t sure if it was real, or another memory the miasma was forcing me to see. My heart hammered hard as I stepped closer. Something shifted at the base of the trunk. A small, old, weathered brown book was partially buried in the ground. It was the same journal Maureen had written in during the visions shown by the miasma. This was the blood-soaked journal she kept in her final days in the Void. My fingers trembled as I reached for it and the leaves above me rustled. A low growl rattled the air. I barely lifted my head before a towering magical beast lunged from behind the tree, its maw open wide, teeth glistening with black venom and everything erupted into chaos.

When they ran towards the window to see what was going on, they met pitch darkness, which could obscure anyone's vision, even from seeing their own toes. "What do you think that was, Miss Milburn?" She came across one that had a giant moon on it. It told of making ones inner wolf stay out. Before she could finish reading, she heard the doors open. In a panic she ripped the page out and ducked behind some shelves. "Her scent was trailing into here..." a deep voice barked. A group of three men spread out into the room and began looking around. Atzi continued to hide. The mouse squeaked and ran towards the men. She scurried around their feet, making them distracted.

The journey led them to the heart of the mountain, where a dark and imposing mansion stood, surrounded by the dense forest. It had grown dark by the time they arrived, the moon casting eerie shadows on the centuries-old building. The place looked like something out of a gothic novel, a blend of haunting beauty and decaying grandeur. Luna's eyes welled up with tears as she gazed upon the mansion. "This place," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion, "it hasn't changed at all. It's just like I remembered."

The entire place was completely empty and quiet; it seemed no one had awakened. I decided to use the opportunity to explore the mansion myself. I went from corner to corner and from one hallway to the next, carefully mapping my way so I wouldn’t get lost.
