Move To The City In A Broke Down Car นิยาย & เรื่องราว

At that moment, the sound of a roaring engine could be heard in the distance. A black car sped towards them, its front visibly damaged and seemingly on the verge of falling apart. The car careened and swerved along the way, and when it arrived in front of everyone, it let out a hissing sound. A crack appeared on the front hood of the car, emitting a burst of smoke. It broke down. "Damn it! I already told you that screw doesn't go there. Why are you blindly twisting it?" Mitbahl kicked open the rickety car door and jumped out.

I refused to speed up, refusing to give them the satisfaction of seeing me run after anything. The SUV finally found the open stretch of road behind it and limped away at a speed that owed more to fear than to whatever was left of its engine, the sound of scraping metal trailing behind it until it finally thinned into nothing down the empty street. I stood there a moment longer, smoke still hanging thick in the air around the wreckage of my own car. They'd underestimated me, the same mistake everyone in this city seemed determined to keep making. Whoever had sent them didn't understand what I'd survived to get here, or what that survival had actually cost me.

Was it a mistake? Sitting back in her seat, she did her best to ignore him as he climbed behind the wheel and started up his car. She glanced over at her own car, and tried her hardest not to pout. Neither of them spoke as he drove through the busy city streets. Even at seven o'clock at night it was still busy. It was one of the downfalls of living in a city, the chaos. Living here was like living on constant speed. "Today was a good day."

I would stalk his I*******m and F******k pages, but I made sure I never liked any of them. I couldn’t make such an expensive mistake. Never let him know I was one of those girls. One Friday, while on my way back from school, my car broke down in the middle of the road, and it was raining heavily. I could barely fix the chain on a bike, talk more of a car. I tried calling an Uber, but my phone kept disconnecting. That was when I saw a black Mercedes approaching. I wasn’t used to getting stuck on the road, but it was pouring heavily, so I waved at the car—and to my surprise, the driver stopped.

"Airport, please." The driver started the car. "Sure thing. Where are you headed?" I watched the city slide backward outside the window. "To start a new life."

It sounded like it belonged to someone who didn’t take crap from anyone. “Hi, um, my car just broke down on Route 17. Can you help me?” I asked, trying not to sound as scared as I felt. There was a short pause. “Stay put, I’ll come tow you in. What’s your name?” “Brooke,” I said quickly. “I’m twenty two. Please hurry.” “Jax here. I’ll be there soon.” He hung up before I could say anything else. I waited in the car, hugging my arms around myself. My short sundress felt way too thin now that the air was getting cold. About twenty minutes later, bright headlights cut through the darkness. A big tow truck pulled up behind me. The driver stepped out, and my breath caught.

The locks clicked the instant the door shut. I grabbed the handle. It wouldn’t open. Draven slid into the driver’s seat, glancing at me in the mirror with a crooked smile. “Told you we’d leave one way or another.” Kai settled into the passenger seat. Without looking back, he said, “Drive.” The engine roared, and the car pulled away, carrying me farther from the only life I’d ever known. #### The city slipped past my window — familiar streets, traffic lights, apartment buildings, people walking home from work. Everything looked painfully normal. How could the world keep moving like nothing happened? How could strangers laugh while mine had fallen apart?

I was getting out of here or I was going to die trying! God, how badly I wished Cameron was here right now. If only there was a way of letting him know. I was sure that he was going crazy looking for me right now. That thought itself made me even more determined to get out of this mess. I pushed up against the man with all the strength I had, turning the steering wheel all the way to the right. The car zoomed to the right side of the road at full speed. The movements became jerky as the car bumped against the guard rail and broke through it.

The black, armored sedan moved through the city streets. I sat in the back, watching the familiar scenery pass by. This city was completely under my control now. Every building, every street, was a testament to my rise. "Stop at the next light," I told the driver. "I want to get out and walk." "Yes, ma'am." The car stopped at the red light. I was about to open the door when someone started banging on the window. My driver was instantly on alert. "Ma'am, we have a situation."

He started the car and stepped on the accelerator, driving out of the driveway in speed and bringing his hand out of the broken window to shoot at his enemies. From his rearview mirror, he saw cars coming after him and cursed, he needs to lose them in the city otherwise everything would be for nothing. He channeled his direction to the busiest road, it was the only place his plan could be possible. Shots still fell on his car and once in a while he would shoot back from the window. Jamming traffic, he didn’t think twice and drove into the building around, leaving pieces of broken glass on its wake.
