And we weren’t even at the commune yet. Inside the car, the cheerful, high-pitched melody pouring from the speakers grated on my nerves. I narrowed my eyes, unable to ignore the almost cartoonish joy of the music. “What even is this?” I asked, eyebrows furrowing as the bubbly tune continued to fill the space. Beside me, Dante grinned as if I had complimented the playlist. “Trolls soundtrack,” he announced with an absurd amount of pride. “It’s catchy. You like it?” My glare deepened. “Absolutely not.”
