When the Music Burns

When the Music Burns

My name is Jeffrey Carter, and I always heard that concerts were crawling with cool, outgoing girls. Looking for a thrill, I scored a ticket to a big-time pop star's show to check out the scene. When I got there, the place was packed. Everywhere I looked, there were girls in their twenties, dressed to impress, looking like they had just stepped off a fashion runway. Normally, those girls played it cool, the kind that took a while to warm up to someone. However, the moment the star hit the stage, they went wild, screaming at the top of their lungs like they just could not contain themselves.

The Winter Swan

The Winter Swan

“Do you know how I feel? I’m sure you don’t feel anything for me, but I…” After a short silence, Kail whispered to the painting again. “Are you listening to me? Silje, I miss you so much.” He stared at the painting intently before closing his eyes. He leaned back against the wall. Another calm silence fell. It was dark outside with the crescent moon shining like a white pearl. The moonlight shone into his hospital room and Kail started to sing again. “This is not an old story. The nine-headed troll from the northern European myth came and stole my girl and my baby. The monster was hiding among the fjord and when I was away, she took away my life. I am now left alone in this world, and I am s

The Chronicles of Wolves and Fire

The Chronicles of Wolves and Fire

As she finished the story, Ryan’s mouth thinned into a hard line. "June, please tell me we are both picturing those magical little cutie trolls in the animation's trolls who could sing. With Justin Timberlake's version of the True Colors!" Ryan asked with a smirk. "Oh yeah! That was a good animation. I love it. Years have gone by, it feels like yesterday once more. Every Shalala, every Whoa Whoah, still shines. " June replied with a tune to the classic Carpenters' song! " "What the hell are you talking about, June?" "I'm talking about trolls here, not about your father being a carpenter."

Biting the King: A Rogue’s Second Sunrise

Biting the King: A Rogue’s Second Sunrise

“The boy is quite arrogant on camera. My profile isn't a fan of his group yet, but if his claws can actually pull this off, my wolf doesn't mind joining his circle today.” “Isn't he afraid his big bluff is about to get completely exposed to the capital?” “Since his mouth wants to be so self-assured and arrogant, our fingers won't go easy on his choice!” Following that comment, the paid trolls hurriedly search their data circles for the most obscure, difficult, and ancient pack songs ever written in the history books. But my fingers flawlessly execute every single piece they throw at my face, my spirit capturing the exact emotional essence and ancient beast-pacing of each separate track.

The Alpha's Obsession

The Alpha's Obsession

It was a monstrous creature, its grotesque form blending seamlessly with the malevolence of the night. A troll, twice the size of a man, stood before them, its gnarled skin covered in warts and scars. Its eyes glowed with an insidious hunger as it snarled, revealing rows of jagged teeth. The goblins halted their pursuit, cackling with glee at the sight of their newfound ally. Leori's mind raced, searching for a plan, a way to overcome this seemingly insurmountable obstacle. He locked eyes with his companions, their shared determination unspoken but palpable. In that fleeting moment, they knew they had to fight for their lives.

2nd story in the "next generation" of The Guardian series. This one takes a more fantasy twist but totally works. I was enthralled all the way to the epilogues which had me crying yet again. This author updates regularly & always concludes her stories. No worries about abandoned books with her.

The seer fired back making everyone laugh. “Trolls are not violent dear seer, they are the same as your kind, they are not violent, but it doesn’t mean that there won’t be any rotten potatoes in a sack. Like you.” The troll elder fired back as well but before the seer could say anything else Tia chanted a spell and sealed his mouth. “You should have done that a long time ago.” The troll elder said to Tia.

To Tempt My Stepbrother

To Tempt My Stepbrother

I murmur. “It is. Fun without a cap. The attention was like a drug, you could get high on it,” he says with a laugh. “We pulled the numbers, everyone loved us. It felt like we had achieved everything. Money, girls, cars, we had it all. But we also had trolls. The critics. There was always that one or two or two thousand trolls who had something negative to say about the performance. Our voices or acts.” Calum makes a sound at the back of his throat and I hug him. “You don’t have to talk about it, Cal.”

I highly recommend reading this story! This book and it’s characters will forever stay with me! It’s a great story, that you can feel the raw emotions of the characters. I must admit when I started reading, Stranger Things season came on the same week and I have always envisioned Cal as Eddie haha.

Cheap Trick

Cheap Trick

And this guy sitting in front of me? This lying, cheating, slimy bastard? I’d turn him into a rat. No…that’s an insult to rodents everywhere. They’re kind of cute with their little whiskers and the way they hold things in their tiny hands when they eat. Maybe I’d turn him into a worm. Oh—no, I’ve got a better idea. A stink bug that just happens to be flying over the freeway when a semi-truck barrels down the road and smacks right into him, smearing him all over the—well, now I know why I don’t have cool powers.

Her Three Wicked Mates

Her Three Wicked Mates

Elara POV Vexx had outdone himself this time. As soon as we were within sight of the warehouse, we were descended upon by trolls, or ogres maybe? Whatever, all I knew is they were huge, smelly, and a product of wicked magic. It took three of us to take down one of these monstrous things. Luckily, we’d only sent one of our magic workers inside with the rescue team—or bait team, depending on how you looked at it. Claire, Grey, and I felled one of these club swinging trolls together by hitting him hard with spells on all sides. No sooner did we finish with him, then another one climbed from a crevice in the earth and roared, brandishing its studded weapon at us.
