From that day onward, he stopped visiting the cat. Sometimes, after class, he would still hear its soft cries, but never once did he look back. Until one day, he saw it by the side of the street. It had greyish-white spots on its body, so Hendrix was sure it was the kitten. It seemed to have been run over by a car, its body covered in bloodstains. Its wide-open eyes stared blankly, its breathing was heavy, and its frail chest heaved violently, as if trying desperately to cling to life.

But that’s when I saw it. Blood. A thin stream, dark and wet, slid from her nose. Her nose. Not Katarina’s. Luce blinked. Touched her upper lip. Swore under her breath. “The fuck?” she muttered, wiping it with her thumb. Katarina’s eyes flicked to mine. Shaken. Silent. She slipped past Luce and into my room. Luce stared at the blood like she’d never bled from anything before. And I knew Luce didn’t bleed easily.

I cried with the little strength in me, and sweat dripped down from my forehead. "Your stomach?" The other Alpha asked as he teleported behind me and helped me lie down on the bed. I nodded my head. "It's... It hurts." I cried. "Blood... There is blood! You're bleeding, Catherine!" The Alpha holding my hand screamed, and I gasped.

I wiped angrily at my cheeks, but the tears kept falling, making it hard to see the road clearly. Suddenly, a cat and a tiny kitten darted across the road and straight into my path. I slammed the brakes, the tires screeching as I maneuvered out of the way. The car jerked violently to a stop, and my body lurched forward against the seatbelt. The cat, a scrappy little thing with wide, terrified eyes, froze on the edge of the pavement. The kitten tumbled after it, mewling, and the mother quickly nudged it away, disappearing into the bushes.

Jang. "What happened?" he asked, glancing briefly at the kitten. "Something has happened to Snowy. She isn't moving," Sera explained, her eyes brimming with fresh tears. Mr. Jang's gaze drifted back to the kitten, and he studied her with furrowed brows. "I am a vet. Let me take a look," he said. Sera was quick to take Snow White from Nate's hold and gave her to Mr. Jang. Mr. Jang examined the feline and concluded she had caught a fever. If they had delayed any longer, the kitten might not have made it. The revelation filled Sera with both relief and rage. Mr.Jang administered the necessary medicines and left.

And it was shredded into pieces. I scanned the area, double-checking that no others were remaining, before rushing to Catrina, who was lying on the ground. Her hair was covering her face; I flicked it back. Her eyes were closed, but her breathing was rapid. I cautiously slide my hand beneath her body and then gently lift her into my arms. I could see her bleeding from the wound on her shoulder, the blood staining the sleeve of my jacket. Seeing all this blood makes me feel like unleashing my beast and annihilating them all.

She was bleeding badly and was very withdrawn. Both of their heads snapped at me. The man appeared afraid, while my kitten appeared relieved. I sprinted inside in the man's direction, who was getting up and looking for something. I slammed him on the wall, producing a cracking noise, before he could even stoop to fetch something.

"You have blood on your hand." For a brief moment, Edim and I made eye contact, I immediately averted my eyes from those dark eyes and shook my head no. "No... I'm not injured," I said, trying to hide my trembling bloody hands. I actually had terrible pains in my arm and back. "I have nothing, you take care of Lightning." "My cat's name is Lightning," I added, looking at my face as if the vet didn't understand for a moment. "Şimşek has damage to her internal organs and head , " the veterinarian said.
