There’s a fucking future. I don’t have CSD. Which means that I have more than just months left. I can make choices. I can go back to the Southwest, see Daisy grow up, watch Seraphine be the worst parent on the planet. I can be a journalist again, or a financial advisor, or dedicate the next ten years to learning how to solve Rubik’s Cubes. I can apply for a loan, buy a cabin close to the Pacific Coast, and spend my mornings exploring the shoreline. I can annoy Zane ad infinitum.

Future informs me. “What?” I ask, confused. “Tay booked a spa treat for us. God knows how much I need some pampering,” Future says and takes a sip from the mug. “Where is he?” I ask, getting up. “Work,” “What time is it?” I ask. “About ten-thirty.” Future says. “I'm hungry,” I inform Future, rubbing my stomach. “I know, there are pancakes on the kitchen counter.” I make my way to the bathroom, take a quick shower, brush my teeth, and walk to my room. I dress up in shorts and a light blue dress shirt and pull my hair into a messy bun.

A few things are destined to happen, but nothing is ever for certain, so the same thing could happen in a lot of different ways. Then I lose consciousness. Where am I? The place was so dark, and I can't see anything. Then, a sudden flash of light brightens all my surroundings. I discover myself standing in front of a mirror, and it shows my present self. I'm Kofi again. I look at my surroundings, and I see Kelly standing in front of me. I see her smiling at me while approaching. "Hi, my future self." She greets me with a smile, and I am so confused about what's happening right now. She reaches her hands to me while showing her palm.
