I just finished reading a book about their history. It wasn't very detailed. I returned the book to the shelf when the doors opened. A blue dress stood with her head bowed.

Her eyes sparkled again. "Just like so many others, she's given us a world to escape to. A heroine tasked to kill a dark sorcerer when, in reality..." the woman stopped, "I can't spoil it for you! You'll just have to read it." She said as she rang him up. Was this how everyone reacted to Lily's book?

“But you can’t just tie me up here in this warehouse either!” “And who said I will just tie you up?” Lily said coldly. “You being alive will spoil my plans of getting married to him. And even if I succeed, you being alive will make it impossible for me to live happily with him.” “So… so what?” Ivy asked, fear filling her eyes. Lily looked at her, smiled faintly, then walked to one corner of the warehouse. She pulled out a big bottle of petrol and removed a lighter from her bag before walking back toward Ivy.

“I… don’t know. She was always so private about her stuff. Even when I asked to borrow her notes, she would rather send them than give me access to her screen.” Lily sighed. “Nothing at all? Maybe a hint? A nickname, a favorite number? A pet's name?” “She didn’t have pets. But…” Cassidy bit her lip. “She was weirdly obsessed with that old book series… you know, the one about the warrior wolves? Moonshade Pack Chronicles, I think?” Lily perked up. “Yeah! She used to talk about it all the time.” “Sorry I can’t help more.” “No—it’s okay,” Lily said, her smile fading. “Thanks for trying.”

Lily opened her blue notebook. She wrote something in her neat block letters and closed it completely. She did not show either of them. She was keeping her own secret records. "Did you write about the plant?" Aurora asked the child. Lily nodded. "Will you show me?"

“She is normalizing.” Lily and Dylan continued on to the Gallery which is above the Archive. Lily stood at the railing and gazed down. The rows of shelves of books stretched out straight lines from where she was standing. She followed the slight misalignment of the books — slightly off because the books were put back the wrong way; slightly off center because the chairs had been moved. Lily stated, "She has been here." As Lily spoke Dylan followed her gaze. "She reads fast," Dylan replied. "She doesn't have to read," Lily replied. "She simply needs to understand why people protect things."

Sky didn’t mind her jumping on him, he was focused more on the book Lily showed him with astonished expressions. “Do you think I know what it is?” asked Sky looking at incredulously. “He is coming” said Lily in barely a whisper and hit his stomach with her elbow. “Ouch! Ah! Liam will help too” said Sky when he understood what Lily wanted to convey. “I will help whom with what?” asked Liam confusedly. “You will help us with this” ordered Sky with authority while showing him the book. “Are you kidding me? Ask more politely” said Liam with a smirk.

I move past them and walk into the living room. Lily is sitting on the floor again. Same spot. Same careful posture. She looks up when she sees me. “Can you help me with this,” she asks, holding up her book. Her voice is soft. Like she’s testing to see my reaction before getting comfortable. “Yeah,” I say. I sit down beside her. She shifts a little closer, turning the page toward me. “I don’t understand this part,” she says. I look at it. Words blur for a second.
