I let out a long, shaky exhale, the last of the tension leaving my muscles.
"I believe you," I whispered.
Alessandro’s expression softened even further. He shifted closer, his hands moving to cup my face gently. "You are carrying too much right now," he murmured, his thumb brushing across my cheekbone. "You are fighting a war, and dealing with ghosts from your past. You need to relax."
"Relaxing isn't exactly easy right now," I pointed out with a small, self-deprecating laugh.
