“The most recent edition. I’ll go check.” I slip past the scattered students and move toward the darker section of the library, the area reserved for psychology, criminology, and mental disorders. Dust hangs in the air, glinting faintly in the overhead fluorescent lights. The scent of old paper and polished wood fills my nose as I run my finger along the spines of the books. Some are new and pristine, others ancient, their leather cracked and pages yellowed, carrying the weight of decades of human obsession with crime and the mind.

I can feel a shiver run down my spine as I gulp. Something is weird about the atmosphere... how come everyone suddenly disappears? I slowly swallow the candy that was sitting in my mouth. While I am waiting, I pick up the book by his bedside and read the title, ‘Six of Crows’, I turn it around to read the blurb, it was about six thieves trying to pull off an impossible heist to save their country. The book seemed like a very interesting read, maybe after Blake was done with the book, I could read after him. In the meantime, I bring out my phone and I open the app I have for books. I go the book I am currently reading, it is murder mystery/ thriller, titled ‘As good as dead’ and it is very interesting and intriguing.
