A Deal with Desire
Nestled amongst stacks of old boxes, its eyes glowing embers in the dim light, crouched a creature straight out of William's paintings.
It was a griffin, no bigger than a large dog, its body a magnificent blend of lion and eagle. Golden feathers covered its back and powerful legs, while a fierce, intelligent gaze emanated from its feline head. Its wings, tucked close to its body, twitched nervously, and a low growl rumbled from its throat.
Liam let out a gasp, the flashlight beam flickering wildly. Evie, however, felt a strange sense of awe battling with her fear. The creature, despite its menacing posture, seemed more curious than aggressive.
