Chapter 116: The Business of Desire The sun was high in the sky, marking the beginning of what would be a long day of business negotiations. Hana, dressed in a sleek, form-fitting outfit that radiated power and elegance, was ready to lead the discussions with the Alphas from the southern packs. Each of these meetings was crucial for securing the trade alliances that would alleviate their pack’s recent hardships. However, there was an undercurrent of tension that Hana was already aware of: these Alphas, though respected leaders, often let their primal instincts cloud their judgment, especially when dealing with a Luna as striking and commanding as Hana.

Apart from the fact that my mate was mistreated, I love the Night Howlers pack. From the little, I've seen so far of it. Alpha Nate is a man of good standard and quality taste. I love the way his pack is structured and resources utilized. The Night Howlers pack's standard of living is top-notch considering the fact that it's not even among the first five largest packs in North America.

Wyatt tilted his head and the other man followed where he indicated. Standing only a few dozen feet away was Alpha Henry of the Harbor Moon pack in North Carolina. The man had no sons to take the position of Alpha. His oldest daughter was now the Luna of the Autumn Hills Pack in New Hampshire. But his second daughter, twenty-one-year-old Amber, stood in the place of the next Alpha. Whether it was to learn the duties of the Alpha, or to find a mate, neither man was not certain. But the fact that she was here at the meeting, and not at the Hunt spoke volumes.

I don’t know what I would do without these two. Once the pain subsides I decide to go for a walk around the property. The community of Billywillinga is quite nice. It’s in the mountain range, lots of trees, but less than 20 minutes from the closest city, being Bathurst. Alpha Jackson gave us all maps of the area, with some sightseeing places marked on it. Today I decided to hike up to Curragurra, and Kookaburra, which aren’t that far from Jacksons place. I wanted to let Janus out, let him stretch his legs and feel the wind in his fur, but since I already had an attack today, it likely isn’t wise.

We were finished with dinner and almost finished cleaning up when Bob got a phone call. “There has been a group of rogues spotted heading towards Autumn Moon.” He continued. “Alpha Braxton asked if we would meet him at our border and help with tracking.” He finished. Autumn Moon pack is one of the largest packs, their resources are unlimited, but our pack has the best trackers. Christine insists that it is because there is something special bread into the wolves in Honeywell pack, but I think that its because our sense of smell isn’t tainted by the copious amounts of unfiltered hormones coming from an ungodly number of wolves in their territory. That’s just me.

"I am so happy you are here-" I was cut off by a cough. Turning I see my Alpha and Luna slightly on edge unhappy about the hunter on their land. "What is a hunter doing here?" Brendon demanded information from the three wolf warriors. I spoke for them before they could say anything, "Brendon, he is safe. Trust me." Brendon growled out an okay before talking to the three men probably telling them how to deal with me. While he did this I went to Ash giving her a hug.

Ash would accompany her hunting, just as Rosalie had told her. Actually, Ash's presence really helped ease the hunting process. The animals that will be used as prey by Leona will be silent when they see the figure of the gray hairy Alpha. And Leona easily got her prey without having to hide or strategize. However, this times, hunting with Ash was one of the many things Leona was trying to avoid.
