Chapter 17 "What are you talking about?" Nora whispered, her voice shaking so badly she barely got the words out. Valencia laughed. It was a cold, high-pitched sound that bounced off the damp stone walls of the cellar. She walked slowly around the small altar, trailing her manicured fingers over the emerald green silk of the dress. "You really are clueless, aren't you?" Valencia mocked, stopping in front of the largest oil painting. "Her name was Elara. They were childhood sweethearts. Deluca was completely obsessed with her."

the other woman said, scoffing. “Ignore them,” Ivy said as Valerie slid into her chair. “They’ve been like this since the semester started.” She then went around the room, introducing everyone. The bickering duo were Mark Jensen and Mary Robertson, the younger female student was Katrina Jacobs, and the other two men were Scott Younger, who was the one in his forties, and Tom Bates. “This is our latest Hampton victim, Valerie Tanner.” Everyone said their hellos as the server arrived to take Valerie’s drink order, choosing a glass of Merlot for now.
