Mom will be back soon, and then you get to see Santa!” Together, Nick and I head to the car, where he helps me bring in five large boxes of cupcakes, carefully placing them on the table. I start pulling off the lids and breathe a sigh of relief… thankfully, they’ve traveled well, and none are squashed. “Uhm, I’m just going to test one of these snowman cupcakes,” Nick says with a cheeky grin, snatching one and taking a big bite. “Oh God… this is delicious, darling! I’d sit at the window chatting to Caleb on my mobile so he could still see me, but he would never come close. Cupcake girl, yep that’s right. I explained roughly how I would like the leaves to look like they are falling from the top. I slid the design of my kutte over to Patrice. “ I want this as the topper.” I said pointing to the cowboy hat and ice crown. “ Is that possible?” I ask nervously. I really want this included. Patrice looks it over and nods “ Yes. I can do this for you.” I light up “ Thank you. Now I would also like four dozen cupcakes for the wee ones.” Patrice pulls out a list of flavors to choose from. I pick basic vanilla and chocolate as well as cotton candy, orange sherbet, cookies and cream and chocolate and peanut butter.

I said as I opened the cupcake box He stared at the cupcake as he began drooling "You can take a piece if you want." I said as I brought the cupcake box closer to him He glanced at the cupcake before he turned back and looked at Noor who was already frustrated "I will take just one piece" He whispered as he reached his hand on the cupcake, Noor pulled him away. Noah asked offhandedly, his attention already fully locked on the butter he was spreading over his toast. She handed me the uneaten one as we started at the kids. “How did you get this out of the kitchen without May or any of the kids catching a hold of you,” I ask as I unwrap the cupcake. “I’m obviously a ninja. I’m specialized in things like this.” She says and I shake my head at her rolling my eyes playfully as we stare at the lively kids. “He’s going to be out like a light soon,” May says coming to sit with Shayna and me.

On either side of the tent, baskets of Vanda orchids hang and trellises of bougainvillea stand. Strung overhead are lines of colorful lightbulbs and, midway, a rainbow disco ball throws off even more colorful dots of light.
