He lifted his shirt and showed a nasty scar across his abdomen. I wondered who painted it on him. I said nothing, and simply watched his performance with a blank face. When Sampson saw that I didn't react, a flicker of embarrassment appeared on his face. I let out a cold snicker. "Are you done? Is that good person who sent you to the hospital Desiree?" Simon asked with hope in his eyes. “I’m sure I could scrounge up a date, but Nate and I aren’t an item,” I grinned at him. “Really? He was all over you at the arcade,” he looked confused.
