Her eyes alight upon scattered sketches strewn across the surface, drawing her in with an irresistible pull. Picking up one of the sketches, she is met with the striking image of a wolf, its form captured in intricate detail. As her gaze flits to another sketch, a closer view of the wolf reveals its menacing features—fangs bared and saliva dripping, an embodiment of primal ferocity. A series of similar sketches follow, each portraying the majestic yet fearsome creatures in different poses. A furrow creases Rose's brow in puzzlement as she contemplates the artist's apparent fixation on these lupine subjects.

“Sorry. I’m just so glad to see you.” “Yeah, I can tell,” Nathan says with a wince, rubbing his shoulder. “What are you doing here? How did you even get here? Your base is all the way over there.” “I used the Cloak of Invisibility. Not Harry’s but Naruto’s.” Kate does a double take. “You watch Naruto, too?” “Duh. And…” Nathan digs into one of the cargo pockets of his lower fatigues. “Ta-da!” he says, revealing two arm bands, both of them red. Kate’s eyes bulge.

He sits resolutely and above is the sky and clouds drawn in wavy pencil lines.

He recognized many of the faces—her, him, a cat they used to feed behind the house. Some were strange, abstract, and chaotic, but he didn’t ask. He never did. “Wow. You drew me again,” he commented, holding up a new sketch of himself, sharp lines for his jaw, softer ones around his eyes.

This picture deserved to be framed and hung on his door as a warning to the visitors. And with her overly large eyes and small lips, she looked weird too. She stayed there with him for some time before leaving withthe sketches. When Nate came home, she showed him his sketch but kept hers hidden. She wasn’t about to let him see it. He would never stop teasing her. "Here," she held out the sketch to him. Nate took the sketch with a frown. "What is it? Who is he?" he asked, looking at the sketch.
