“HEY, DUDE! You look inspired. I’ve noticed you staring at your phone for quite some time. Who are you looking at, huh?” Ernan asked Randall as he entered their meeting room at the Swimming Club. They have a meeting, so all of the members are present, and they are currently waiting for the officers. “Nothing. I just read something funny in E-Face,” Randall responded. The truth is, he can already picture Meredith’s reaction to the surprise he’s planning for her upcoming birthday. He will make sure that it will be memorable for her.

My hands trembled where they rested against the desk, my chest rising and falling with a fury I hadn’t let myself feel in years. I walked toward the window, my stomach churning with anger as I fought back my own pain. I said, smiling at him and extending my hand out to shake his hand. His eyes turn dark for a mere second, and then his lip tugs slightly into a smirk. The big scar over his left eye made him look even more mysterious, just as Ricky had told me. "Luna Dannelly. It's a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for the invitation. I apologize for my lack of communication and for not responding to your invitation. I've been so busy. I thought I wasn't going to be able to make it, but, I just couldn't miss today. I recognised faces I’d only ever seen in magazines — politicians, celebrities, investors — all orbiting around Rand like he was their sun. But he stayed beside me. His hand lingered at the small of my back as if silently reminding everyone that I wasn’t invisible. “Elena, this is Arthur Caine,” he said, introducing me to an older man with a trimmed beard and too much confidence. “He runs the international board.” Arthur shook my hand, his eyes sweeping over me in a way that made my skin prickle. “Ah, the artist,” he said. “I’ve seen your work in Rand’s collection. You must be quite… inspiring.”

When I turned, I saw a young boy of about 19 years old walk into the room with the brightest smile I had seen in a long while. “My name is Rand and I have been assigned to help you with anything you need, Sir,” Rand said with a smile still on his face which made his purple eyes stand out more. He had a cute purple eye and brunette hair. But he was at least 6 feet tall. “Thank you, Rand,” I answered with a tight-lipped smile and he nodded. “Please help me, I want to lie down on the bed,” I said to him and pointed at the bed. He scurried over to me and helped me get up from my wheelchair.

“It took me a few days to think about it, but I believe the Council members are right. We have a lot to learn from each other.” “Were you an athlete as a child?” Randall ignores my statement. “I… ran hurdles on the track team.” I shrug. “I never took it too seriously.” “Shame.” He takes another deep sip of his drink. "I guess that's good for me." My brows knit at his odd admission, then quickly change the subject before he realizes he messed up. “Elder Randall, you’ve never brought your mate to Blood River. Tell me about her. Maybe she would like to join you the next time.”

Krist rolled his eyes already feeling tired of seeing his cousin. “Hi, I’m Randell.” He extended his arm out right in front of Singto. “Hello, I’m Singto.” He took his hand and shook it nervously, not liking this at all. There was something about Randell that didn’t sit well with him, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was exactly.

"Did you see me going to find Nancy tonight?" "No, I haven't seen it!" Randall's voice was cold as he said, "Your son studied in Class A of Janfield International Primary School."

Towering over the group and Dan in particular Randall stepped out of the door with his face a picture of apathy. Instead of getting angry, he looked at me and said, “Well, you’re still alive aren’t you?” I scowled at him. “Disappointed?” “No at all,” he said and continued to go inside the house. “You are so much more fascinating now.” I was too tired to argue with him. “What do you want now?” Randall’s gaze clouded. “To see if you’re ready.” “For what?” He didn’t answer that but the sparking in his eyes suggesting that the answer wouldn’t be kind.
