She cringed watching her grandmother dance to the tune of the music that was played from a stereo in the sitting room. She was with a pack of chocolate candy, munching them with excitement. Sora loved chocolate and after so many days of missing it, she finally got a chance to go out to town to get one. Most times she was busy going out and shopping, she does almost everything for Aurora so she wouldn't neglect her duty in the pack.

“I wasn’t so sure about this thing, but I’ve officially decided that it was one of the better investments this den has made. Any left?” “I’ve got you, Alpha.” I grabbed a stick and a little cup of sugar. “I saw on the internet that some people make cartoon characters with the cotton candy as it is spun.” “I’m lucky I consistently get it on the stick now.” I handed him the pretty-impressive cone of sugar. At least impressive for me. “Thanks.” He took it from me. “You talk to your mates?” I nodded.

I chuckle. “We were twelve years old! What do you expect?” Candy plops down next to me and rolls her eyes before composing herself. “Anywhoo! Hello sweeties! Did you like the show?” “I loved it! Remember when we were kidnapped as kids?” She tugged lightly on the hem of her nightgown and struck what she clearly thought was an irresistible pose.

Noah turned his head, skillfully concealing the sadness in his eyes while a gentle smile graced his fair face. "I came to see you. This is a signature product named ‘Palette of Emotions’ from a famous candy store. They claim that eating these candies will lift your mood." Chloe accepted the exquisite bag of candies, her brows furrowed in confusion. "Palette of Emotions?" "I just watched the replay of the live stream from two days ago," Noah replied calmly.

Candy raises a brow and hesitates but pushes on towards me, seemingly undeterred. “Hi, I’m Candy, nice to meet you Liberty” she holds out her hand. Her smile is radiant but doesn’t reach her eyes. Ignorant, 17 year old Liberty didn’t see that Candy was fake. Seasoned and wiser Liberty sees right through Candy’s act. It pains me to realise how naive I previously was.
