She needed to be kept under control, if she shifted into that wolf then it would be even more difficult to keep my secret. All this because of her pathetic excuse of a mother. If she had not given birth then I would not have wasted so much of my time and energy on keeping quiet. The moon goddess had blessed me with my son, I did not need a daughter out of wedlock. Especially with someone who was just the pack hoare. The day she died was certainly a good day for me. My beautiful Luna would never know about my affair with the hoare. Elora was a mistake but I did not believe in killing pups in my pack. Of course being known as an unmated hoare, nobody questioned who her father was because nobod

Alpha Mick stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Traditionally, it's held on the night of the first new moon between these coming of ages birthdays so since Luka’s is first we need to find out when the next new moon would be before yours Kenny.” Luna Harmony's eyes lit up with excitement. "Oh, I could look that up right away! It would be wonderful to revive this beautiful tradition." Luka and Kenny exchanged glances, a mix of anticipation and nervousness evident on their faces.

Abruptly, Elder Merope tilts her head up, her gaze fixed on the sky. I follow her gaze and feel my breath catch. The moon. It isn’t its usual bright self. A shadow creeps over it, covering its glow bit by bit. My chest tightens as I realize what this means. A lunar eclipse. A murmur ripples through the pack as others start to notice too. "Moonrise would be the ideal time to complete the ritual. The darkest night, when new beginnings are born." A shiver ran through me at her words. The New Moon - a time of potential and renewal. It felt right, somehow, that we should attempt this now.

She asks me, “Adelina has sent it and we just need to administer it to Michelle. She knows Nicholas has sent it to you. Luckily it is a wedding ceremony slated for this evening and the moon’s energy is at its peak today. The moment the moon appears in the sky, I will have to stab Michelle to death, that way I won’t be affected” My heart skips a beat as I hear her, all this start and end with the moon, I see. “So this concoction is to make her sleep?”

But tonight, the valley was drenched in an unnatural, terrifying twilight. High above, the crescent moon was no longer silver. A slow, creeping shadow had begun to eat away at its edge, bleeding a deep, bruised crimson light across the sky.
