I’ve no idea what that even is. Is this your light reading?” he asked teasingly. “Those are the ones I’ve finished and need to return to the library. The other stack are the ones I still have to read.” “I’m deeply impressed. I have no such spectrum of interest.”

She cheerfully nodded. "Of course sir thank you for your service, that'll be 2 silver coins." Alkhun looks at the other books while waiting for the ebook to get signed. He noticed the book series and it added up to 5 books. Is it really fiction? He read the publication date of the latest book and it was a year ago. It is a myth after all. Sophia handed the book and Alkhun handed the payment and put it into his dimensional bag. "That's all you buy for today?" He nodded.

"Let me show you our science fiction section for younger readers. There's a new series that just came out that might be perfect..." Thirty minutes and several hundred dollars later, I left with a stack of books, including a signed first edition of "Starstruck," which the clerk assured me was popular with "smart, space-loving kids." I also had a bagful of advanced puzzles from the hobby shop next door. As I loaded my purchases into the car, I felt strangely satisfied. This wasn't part of the business plan, wasn't necessary for our charade to succeed. But it felt right. Few hours later, my phone had buzzed with a text from Ava:

"Any favorites?" Scott joined her by the bookshelf, scanning the titles. "Oh, there are so many. I enjoy science fiction and fantasy genres the most. Some of my favorites include 'Dune' by Frank Herbert, 'Ender's Game' by Orson Scott Card, and 'Harry Potter' series by J.K. Rowling. But I'm always open to discovering new books too." Fiona nodded, impressed by Scott's literary tastes. She herself was an avid reader and appreciated finding common ground with him.

My sincere thanks to you for reading the short book, Epidemic. This is actually my first sci-fi and zombie type of story, but I hope I did well, and I'll surely work more on improving myself. I wrote this book in a day without even planning for it before (LOL). A colleague of mine asked for one of my works to be added to an anthology he is currently working on. He specified it must be sci-fi, I've never written any sci-fi book before, so I had to quickly put down something. It's kinda funny, I know.

The box was filled with books similar to the one she found on the floor—tattered and yellowing, adorned with somewhat cheesy cover art. Except for a few classics by authors like Verne and Wells, most of them fell into the sci-fi genre. Cole admitted to losing interest in this type of literature after a few pages of convoluted descriptions. However, she recognized some of the titles because she had been repeatedly told that she should read them: Asimov, Russ, Vonarburg, Bradbury, Heinlein, Bujold, Engh, Le Guin.

I just stated while I was looking at the TV. "True, it's scary when something like that happened here," Misha commented while he was watching the news. "NASA doesn't know yet?" I shook my head. "It's the first time," I answered. Misha nodded. The news only continued that's why we left there. We went to the bookstore because I wanted to buy new books. There are new arrivals and those who have joined there. Misha immediately went to the section where the published book of W*****d was lined up. It's like finding a treasure if it can look at that book. I just shook my head.
