Not while Andrew stood beside me.
“I see you’ve gotten yourself a new fling,” she said with a smirk.
“She’s my fiancée,” Andrew corrected coolly.
The smirk vanished from her face. “Fiancée?” she repeated, disbelief flickering in her eyes.
“Yes.” He turned slightly toward me, his tone softening. “Elena, this is Lisa, an old friend from college.”
I offered a polite smile. “Hi, Lisa.”
She didn’t reply. Just narrowed her eyes and muttered, “Nice to see you again, Andrew,” before striding past us with a man carrying her shopping bags.
