The Luna they cried monster
My eyes searched desperately through the darkness until they found the one person I had been looking for all along.
Calista.
She stood several feet away, almost hidden among the white blossoms climbing its wooden frame.
Her arms were wrapped tightly around herself, as though she were trying to keep herself from falling apart.
She wasn’t crying anymore. That frightened me more than the tears ever could.
She simply stood there, motionless, staring at me with wide, unreadable eyes.
Slowly, her gaze drifted downward. She looked at my hands. The same hands that had nearly crushed Jake’s throat. They were still shaking.
