He took another sip of whiskey, tossing me what looked like a pager at first glance. In the tiny screen a red blinking light remained fixed. My eyes narrowed.

VIC'S POV The burn from my favorite whiskey was the only thing keeping the anger in me at bay. I kept drinking more each passing second. At this point, I hated the fact that I had a high tolerance for alcohol because I wanted to get drunk! “Boss,” Rico's voice floated from outside the door. I closed my eyes for a brief moment to calm my anger. “What is it?” I snapped. “The car is ready.” And that made everything all too real.
