Novel & Cerita Night Watching Book Review

Another night at home. The wind had stopped, and even the insects seemed to have disappeared. Naomi slept, her body shrunk under the blanket, and I stood there on the edge of the bed, looking at the ceiling and trying to find silence in my head. But silence did not come. He was there. The wolf. He didn’t howl, he didn’t growl, he just watched.

River’s POV I didn’t sleep. Even after Noah left, even after the tea, even after the storm passed and Aunt Lydia started humming those old college songs on her way to bed, I just lay there. The ceiling above me felt too quiet. Too aware. The dark didn’t feel like dark anymore. It felt like it was watching me. Like the shadows had grown eyes. They crept into the corners of the room, spread across the walls. Waiting. Watching. Holding their breath.

That conversation was available and they were both aware of it and it would come when they were home and the immediate pressing of the situation had settled into something that could be examined rather than managed. For now, there was the night watch and the twelve wolves and the cold and the first light still hours away. She kept watch from a position where she could see the camp and feel the bond and track the specific quality of everyone who needed tracking. When the sky changed she woke the first-light rotation and they began to move.

Nyra's POV The night was quiet. Not peaceful, just quiet. The kind of quiet that thrummed low and awake beneath your skin. The stars shone drowsily overhead and a chill had crawled into the air, slipping past my armor, curling into my bones. I stood on the balcony, arms folded, looking out at the faraway hills where the last streak of light was consumed by the horizon. The courtyard below was quiet. Everyone slept or feigned sleep. The night guards made their deliberate rounds, their footsteps softened by the dense stone. An owl hooted somewhere in the darkness, a sad hooting that sounded as though it came from my own restlessness.

But there was something else there with her, something that was made of the night, something with teeth that wanted to devour her. She woke covered in sweat and her body felt like it was made of swollen pain. As soon as she realized the book was floating next to the bed, she’d uttered a tiny scream and then it dropped to the floor. Lauren realized her mom was looking at her expectantly, that she’d gotten lost thinking about the book. “I guess, yeah, I didn’t really know what to do with myself yesterday,” Lauren said. “Well, you can lie down if you need to,” Mom said. “The first few times seem like they’re especially hard.” “Thanks,” Lauren said. “I guess I’ll see how I feel later. Deidre I closed the book and rubbed my eyes, leaning back in my chair. The room was dark; the fire had died hours ago. I glanced at the clock on my desk. It was almost 3:00 in the morning. I had barely noticed how cold my office was, or the deep shadows along the wall that the window had cast in the moonlight. But now that I wasn’t absorbed by the book in front of me, I shuddered, not sure if I was more chilled more by the dark room or by what I had just read.

He laid me back down while I was unbuckling his pants and this time we didn't need to worry about anyone bothering us like Leah did last time. We had a perfect night together that night and I had so much trouble going to sleep that night. I looked over and Noah sleeping beside me and he was out to it. But I got up and wrapped the sheet around me and I sat next to the window looking out at the scenery. I could see creatures running through the woods and I was warned that they would have double patrols on tonight knowing that there were vampires around.

Darcy. While I was reading the book which was almost on chapter 32 of it, I realized that she was already asleep. The book was incomplete. I had never read any books for such a long time. It was such a wonderful experience to read book and I almost read half of the book in one night. I loved the way the story was developing. I looked at the watch that was hanging on the wall. It was almost 2 am. Holy! How could it be? I mean I spent so many hours on reading the book. Something that I rarely touched and felt but today I was doing the both, reading and giving suggestions.
