Sky fights fiercely, his movement swift and dangerous as the wolf tries to maul him. Jumping out of the snow I leap onto the unknown wolves back. With a sharp yelp he falls head first into the snow forcing me to tumble into the slush in front of him. Before the wolf can stand again Sky fallen wolf. Again I get to my feet to help sky with the brawl but the wolf throws him shoulders him aside and makes a break for the trees, his tail low as he flees into the shadows of the trees.

It was just a dream, thank God it was just a dream. I can almost taste the relief and fear that I'm feeling right now. Relief because it was all a silly nightmare and Sky hasn't disappeared. Fear because even though I just woke up from the depths of my nightmare, I'm almost certain I just met the actual devil and he's coming after me. I find it difficult to go back to sleep so decide to call Sky. It's not that I wanna his voice but I also want to make sure he's okay. He answers after the fifth ring up after. "You have got to be kidding me." He doesn't sound too pleased with the fact that I just disturbed his sleep.

“But his safety was more important than that. And his sister – she’s only seven. I said I’d go and see him later, maybe, if I could get out.” I frowned, my forehead crumpling with sadness for Kathrena. She was in the same situation that I was, only worse – her nightmate couldn’t protect himself, not in the way that Skye could. Skye was aware of the danger, and he was built to fight it.
