Darius shot, radiant like the sun high in the sky. The table was alive again with all the conversation. I was minding my own business, poking at the half-cut strawberry on my plate, my mind wandering far away, back to the nightmare I had last night. Blood covered my hands. My fingers reached for the fork, but as I brushed hers, something hit me — like a flash. A vision with a faint headache. It exploded into my head without warning. I saw myself collapsing, clutching my stomach. Pain, White-hot and unbearable. Blood pooling on cold tile. My body convulsing. I gasped, tearing my hand back. My heart pounded in my ears. Sweat broke out across my back. Inside me, my wolf stirred. Neva, alert and growling, hissed inside my head. Her voice was sharp. "There’s poison in the soup. I can smell it. Powdered poisonous mushrooms — the kind that cause hallucinations and stomach spasms. It’s masked well, but I can smell the difference. This isn’t natural."

“Once. And for all.” (Witch’s POV – Lena) The camp had gone quiet. Only the distant crunch of patrol boots over gravel broke the stillness. In my tent, the air was thick with sage smoke, curling in silver threads toward the low lantern glow. My sisters sat across from me, their faces pale in the flickering light. Nora spread a worn leather-bound book on the table between us, its spine cracked, pages edged with soot from gods-knew-how-many other battles. “This thing isn’t just feeding,” she whispered. “It’s tethered. Something or someone is anchoring it here.”

At the corner of his eye, he spots a figure glaring at him at the far edge of the females' lodge but it crawls away before he could set his full gaze in that direction.

She notices a little book under the scattered documents. She opens the first page 'Drago Morningstar' is written on it, strange name, she thinks. She opens the next page 'Nightmare' is written on it. The word catches her attention, " Nightmare" she mumbles. "Nightmare" Rachael mumbles. A little force bends the air around the table as breeze brushes some documents to the ground. Suddenly, the book starts to flip pages by itself and Rachael panics. She runs to a corner of the office and looks in fear .

This morning, I'm still so worried. I didn't get much sleep! I kept having horrible nightmares. In some, I was being chased by a family of zombies through the manor house, in others, I was the Bathory's meal. This food thing is really getting to me. All the little details I've put together is making me reflect on the nature of my hosts. And on the darkness surrounding them. I see Sarah coming to meet me. She looks more rested than I am. It's not very surprising considering...

Mom glances over at me again and asks, "Did you have anymore nightmares last night?" "Yes, I don't know what is going on. Ever since Billie gave me Charlie, I have been having this same bad dream over and over. It is so real that I peed the bed, I'm sorry."
