On each of them I could see fabric tied around their left upper arms: some, like Samyak had mentioned, were varying shades of turquoise; others were creamy off-white tones, some were terracotta red and burnt orange, and others were pine to bottle green.
I turned to Samyak to ask what the other colours meant, and why none of them were quite the same shade, although I could see a clear distinction between each group, when he and I were tackled from the side.
“Sammy! And you must be Arienne. Ah, let me look at you,” the girl said, and she stepped back enough for me to see her.
