It's Not Too Late
He seemed dissatisfied with this answer and asked again.
"During a meal, I dropped a loaf of bread, and the teacher found out," I said, looking as well-behaved as I could.
Mark frowned without saying a word for a while. I glanced at him, unsure of what he was thinking.
After a long silence, he finally spoke slowly.
"Besides your back, where else did they hit you?"
I shook my head to indicate nowhere else.
In reality, it wasn't that they hit my back; it was that I curled up, so they could only hit my back.
