The road that led to the left was a brick road that was wide, clean, and looked very well-maintained and afore-traversed. Another dirt road that was even more narrow and had snow all over it continued straight. In fact, it was so poorly maintained that Rhina didn’t realize that it was a road in the beginning. It looked like no one had gone up the road to the right in centuries. Rhina was about to head up the left fork when her instincts forced her to stop in her tracks. This left fork looks quite a bit…too well-maintained, doesn’t it? I wonder who it is that cleans this road every day, she wondered.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed. Real subtle dad. My subconscious said sarcastically. My mom pulled into the road and off we went. We were driving from Colorado to Ontario and it was going to take a couple of hours so I decided to shut my eyes for the rest of the way. I was so excited the last night that I had a little or no sleep. The air condition in the car did wonders to my body, soul and mind. I wasnt asleep, but I wasnt awake either–I just stayed in that state for a while, it was peaceful and serene.

Yep.” “How do you get to the next level?” asked Kariya sounding more interested than before. “you must master the Wing Road and defeat the king of the road in battle or complete a set of tests, then you go on to the next path if you chose to.”

he nods at Sabine respectfully before heading in the direction we recently came. “I’m going to take a guess and say you tried to follow the old road out here? You do know there’s a new dirt path not far off the main road that leads you to the settlement, right?” she chuckles; raising an eyebrow as Mato jumps back into the boggy flow of murky water almost submerging himself as he stumbles over; splashing us all in the process as he groans in disgust, unimpressed. “Wait, are you serious? I thought that was the road we took,” he looks up grimacing while wiping a smudge of grime away from his cheek.

She suddenly looked up at the giant screen. "Mason!" she cried out, her voice trembling. Then she drove away at full speed. No one dared stop the car. Joanna pressed the gas to the floor and reached the studio as fast as she could. By then, the studio had already been surrounded by police. Joanna tried to rush inside but was stopped. "Ma'am, this is the scene of a death. You cannot enter." Joanna was about to lose her temper, but one sentence from the housekeeper drenched her in ice.

This wasn’t over. Not by a long shot.

~Jane~ As I continued to follow beside Nathan, we soon came to a stop. We stopped at the entrance of the meadow, the place that had become ours. He then looked over at me and gave me a nod, telling me to go ahead. Without hesitation I stepped forward and walked through the tree line. As I stepped inside, I was completely breathless at what I saw. Our special meadow glowed beneath the moonlight, a trail of soft golden lights leading toward the lake like stars scattered through the grass. Candles floated across the dark water beside white flowers, their reflections shimmering beneath the full moon.

Every tremble he caused. Because once he finishes ruining me? He’ll get bored. And throw me away. Just like I need him to. So I’ll give it to him. The room. The game. The dark. Everything. And when there’s nothing left of me to want? I’ll be free. The ride is silent. The town car hums across wet pavement. The driver doesn’t speak. Doesn’t dare glance back.
