Noctis Lucis Caelum Older Novels & Stories

, Rey asked as Lucius remained calm. "The Lycan and The moon Alpha both before me. It had been 2000 years"Astorion said. "Two millenia away and you both are still the same" "What is this?", Lucius queried. "We have been here before?", Rey asked. "Yes and No", the being replied. Lucius and Rey glanced at each other, confused by Astorion's cryptic response. "We don't understand", Rey said. "The eternal night is upon us and the darkness is creeping up on you, but this isn't the first time this has happened," Astorion began.

A smile washes over my face as his rough voice floods the space, and I can just imagine his tired, haggard face. “Because not only are you the weapons manufacturer,” he continues, “you’re also a Nero. And you’ve managed to bag the only other Nero in the galaxy they know about. I think you could stand to learn a little humility, Nova.” “Slag, Edan, you’re alive!” I say, relief flooding through me. “Are the others okay?” “What the void, Nova?” Zayne’s voice speaks through the overhead sound system. “You can’t just go and disappear like that and then make a major outing on The Black Hole of Truth. Are you trying to give everyone a slam heart attack?”

Two maids entered with trays of oils, makeup, and shoes. “We’ll help you get ready, Luna.” “I didn’t even get to rest,” Lydia mumbled. The maids chuckled. “Alpha Knox is already downstairs.” She sighed again and let them work. When she finally stepped down the winding staircase into the hall, the ceremony was already underway. Eyes turned toward her. Murmurs followed her like shadows. But then—there he was. Knox. Waiting in front of the Lycan ceremonial basin. He reached for her hand. They stood together under the hanging moonflower vines as the officiator chanted ancient words. They each dropped a few drops of blood into the silver bowl of water, drank from it, and then sealed it with a kis

Her eyes skimmed it once. Once more. Slow. Her lips part, just a hair. “Bastard.” Not loud. Not choked. But it quivered. With fury. The kind of fury that grows in blood. Caelum stepped closer. “What does it say?” Nora passed it to him without a word. Lucien reread it out loud: “You wear the bones of the extinct like armor. But some of us remember what burned first.” Elias snorted harshly through his nose. “He’s fucking baiting her.”

“Running. Bleeding. The babies... they're crying." Rosa whimpered. Tears filled her eyes "Rosa," Pierce said sharply, "stay calm. It's just the vision." But Nicolas was already moving, his hand reaching for the pen Pierce had grabbed. His fingers moved across the paper with jerky, unnatural movements, forming words in languages he didn't know. Sanguis matris. Gemini mortui. Luna nova sacrificium. Elena read over his shoulder, her face going white. "Mother's blood. Dead twins. New moon sacrifice." She whispered.

Something else had answered her. Something ancient. Something that should not be moving. And from deep inside Nightfall territory— a distant silver glow flickered faintly through the trees. Ronan turned sharply toward it. His expression changed instantly. “…No.” Lucien followed his gaze. And for the first time since arriving— his control cracked slightly. Because he saw it too. Light. Beneath the ground. Alive. And somewhere far below it— Althea was no longer alone.

He closes that window, maximizes the grimoire window again, and just as he hears footsteps descending the stairs, slides back to his seat. "I have to go," Lucien announces. He closes his grimoire and packs it into his leather satchel. "Can you clear my dishes, please?" "Of course," TJ says. "Thank you, TJ," Lucien presses a kiss to his forehead. "See you tonight," he murmurs and strides out. Oh. My. God. Lucien is Lord Noctis Vale. This is probably what he's been scribbling every night. He's been writing dark vampiric erotica. Really good erotica. How fucking hot is that?

Master Orion stepped closer, his eyes widening with recognition. “The First Script.” Selene looked at him in confusion. “What does it say?” The old scholar struggled to steady his breathing as he translated the glowing words. “It says…” He paused, hardly believing what he was reading. “‘When the Keeper of Death stands beside the King of Night, the forgotten blade shall awaken once more.’” Every noble stared at Lucien’s sword in stunned disbelief. Prince Caelan’s expression darkened. “Another prophecy,” he muttered. “No,” Master Orion replied, unable to hide the awe in his voice. “This is older than prophecy. This inscription was carved before the Night Empire existed.”

As they stepped into the cool, damp air of the night, the rain had transformed into a light drizzle, misting the surroundings in a haze. The world outside felt lush and alive, yet ominous with an undercurrent of uncertainty. George led the way, Elora and Maya close behind, each step bringing them closer to a sanctuary that felt both like a refuge and a line crossed. "Stay close," George advised, casting a watchful glance over his shoulder. "We don't know who might be watching."

The death of Master Levi and Teacher Ailene must have reached Faline Liu and Iwaoka by now. "You have nothing to worry about, Lucian," Jucel assured in a small voice that only him could hear. She was smaller than him so he had to look down at her. The silver-haired woman turned her head to him and smiled. "Chloe Rein is the star. But she couldn't shine if she stayed in the daylight. So, I can be the night." Lucian was nonplussed. His eyes were wide open and his mouth were slightly agape in surprise. He then smiled and nodded in understanding. Both Lucian and Jucel turned back to the training ground, gazing at the third brightest star of Orion, Bellatrix.
