I nodded, barely registering the information as I held onto my mother's hand, willing her to wake up.
Noah stood by my side, silently offering his support as the doctor continued to speak. He asked if we had any questions, and I shook my head, unable to speak through my tears.
The doctor left the room, giving us some privacy, and Noah took my other hand, offering me a tissue from his pocket.
I buried my face in my hands, willing the tears to stop. "It's all my fault." I whispered.
"No Eliana, don't say that." He said."It's not your fault. Accidents happen, and we can't always control them." Noah's were true but I still couldn't shake off the guilt that weighed heavily on my chest.
