—Aiden got all pinkish at the top of his cheekbones—“helped me come up with something you would like.” “Maybe I should go out with him.” “I would strenuously object.” She unwrapped the book and burst out laughing. It was a folio society edition of Rebecca. The restaurant turned out to be a wood cabin built on a traffic island near London Bridge. Inside, it was clean and unfussy, all grown-up shades of brown, and books everywhere—there was even one on their table, a copy of Eros the Bittersweet. And it turned out the whole deal was about telling stories through food. Which she… yeah. Cheesy or not, she loved it.

" My mind went back to the present when he said something. The car stopped at the most prestigious restaurant in the city, where a lunch meeting with the city's biggest investor would be held. I went out of my vehicle when my driver opened the door for me. I am stunned and impressed with the feedback and reviews of this restaurant, even though it was newly opened two weeks ago, according to Alex. He recommended this place, so I know that it’s not that bad because I trust her judgments. I fixed my suit and went straight to the restaurant, while Alex was following me.

He murmured against my lips, then slipped his tongue into my mouth, letting me savor Sarah’s taste mixed with his. “Mmm, delicious.” I hummed when we broke apart. Just then, the driver knocked on the window, signaling that we had arrived at our destination. Sarah quickly straightened her dress and fixed her make-up, then hurriedly stepped out of the car to reveal her surprise. And the look on her face was priceless. “What? How?” Sarah asked excitedly. “It’s impossible to get reservations here!” We were at la Joliesse, a new French restaurant that had gained critical acclaim and made scoring a reservation nearly impossible. Sarah had mentioned several times wanting to eat here and pouted ador

I turn my phone to show him the pictures and he gasps. “That is stunning. How on earth did he manage to find something like that so fast?” “I thought the same thing. The man has skills. Have you managed to book the restaurant yet?” “Yes. I got you a table for two at De LA Rosa’s. They aren’t the top restaurant in the city but they were rated third best and were willing to do anything to accept your request, even close the place to other patrons if needed.” “What about the other two?” “Both claimed to be fully booked and unable to make any changes despite my dropping your name and your promise to boycott them in the future.”

It was breathtaking, and I found myself relaxing despite the lingering tension. The restaurant was unlike anything I had ever seen. Nestled at the edge of the city, it was perched on a hill overlooking a breathtaking view of the mountains. The building itself was a masterpiece of glass and wood, designed to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. As we stepped inside, I was struck by the warmth of the interior— soft lighting, wooden beams, and floor-to-ceiling windows that framed the stunning view outside. The air smelled faintly of cedar and fresh herbs, and the ambiance was so serene it felt like stepping into another world.

My jaw dropped – it was one of the most coveted reservations in town! Pulling into the valet lane, a wave of excitement washed over me. The restaurant itself was a revelation. Stepping inside, I was greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere. High ceilings and eclectic decor set the stage for a truly unique experience. But the real showstopper? The floor-to-ceiling windows overlook a breathtaking beach. Moonlight danced on the cresting waves, creating a scene straight out of a dream. This wasn't just a fancy restaurant; it was pure romance.

Clay poked the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing, though his eyes betrayed him completely. The movement was mischievous and sweet. It sent a traitorous flutter through my chest. I straightened immediately. Focus, Anyta. “What the fuck are you doing here?” I asked. Clay arched a brow, utterly unbothered. “What do people do in restaurants, babe?” I scoffed. “Out of the gazillion restaurants in LA, you just happened to pick this one?” He shrugged. “I googled it. Reviews were great.” “Oh really?”

Most restaurants within the vicinity didn't catch my fancy since I had visited most of them and their food was now stale to my taste buds. I needed a change, I decided, and kept searching until one caught my attention. It was a big Italian restaurant, somewhat close by, and what was more appealing was that it was new. That meant their food and customer service would be top–notch, as they were still trying to break into their market and would want to please their customers. That decided, I got prepared to leave for the location. On arrival, I was impressed by the sophistication of the place. It had to be the best restaurant I have been to in New York, I thought, as I walked inside. I took a s
