The year was 1934; I was twenty-two years old. I never thought of myself as anything special. I was barely making it through the Great Depression. There were many days I lived off of scraps. I was the king of odd jobs, just enough to get by. I had done it all, from being a field hand to a miner. It all changed one night when I stumbled across a traveling circus, Cirque du Lune. I had never seen such a sight. Instead of the usual menagerie, this circus was overrun with wolves. There was one performer who caught my eye; it was as if an angel had descended from heaven on a silk ribbon.

Everyone is envious of me for having someone like Dominic Cruz, who's love-brained, as a husband-to-be. He's rich, handsome, and highly educated. I smile without saying anything, but I nod happily. However, on the day I'm misdiagnosed, he goes missing. He's so engrossed in his secret lover that he forgets all about me. So, I jilt him before he can do it to me. I turn him into the city's laughingstock. Later, I hear that he drinks the bar dry every night. He scours Marina City but fails to find his missing bride.

By the fifth year Dylan Crewe dropped me on a remote island, I finally learned submission. He brought his sugar baby, a college student, along with a Doberman to pick me up. My alarm clock rang at 4 o’clock every morning, as my day would start with a special diet for Dobie and its grooming session. At nine o’clock, I would lay out Tammy’s outfit for the day and be her literal punching bag at the gym. I would have the drinks and food ready for Tammy’s friends in the evening, as she kidded around with her friends about how she tamed the once proud, notoriously spoiled heiress of Hedgewood’s high society.

"Hubby, kiss me. I miss you so much. When are you coming home?" Out of nowhere, I received a text. The sender was the cold, untouchable CEO who was currently scolding us in a meeting, Veronica Starling. What shocked me even more was the timestamp on the message. It was sent five years in the future.

I deeply inhaled the sweet scent of the flower and gave a little shudder of bliss. I closed my eyes and just absorbed the moment wanting to remember it. Suddenly the sounds of paws hitting the forest floor overwhelmed me. Then the forest was ignited with flames. Everything glowed vibrant oranges and reds as heavy smoke smothered me from above. I threw myself to the ground desperate for any trace of clean air. As I attempted to crawl out of the flowers a new sound harmonized with the thunder paws, screams and howls for help terrorized me. I clawed at the ground desperate to escape the menacing choir. Fire licked my skin and I screamed for help. Sobs escaped my lips as flaming branches fell on me from above. The smell of burning flesh was the only thing that consumed me as everything went dark.

I am Angel Lim. An avid fan of a popular novel called, 'The Angel They Adored'. It was a reverse harem story where countless men fell in love with the heroine. It's a great masterpiece but I always hated it whenever the greatest villainess harrases her. Yes. That's what I thought before reading the last chapter of the novel. It was the dying moment of princess Ledecia and for the first time, she reminisced her life. "Why did I even exist in the first place if all in my life I'll be in pain?" Those are the last words she utters before dying. And It was very painful. *Knock knock* I paused my thoughts when I heard a loud knock coming from the front door of my apartment. "I'm coming" "Delivery from lily's shop ma'am" I opened my door as I slowly approached the man standing before me. "Oh sorry? But I didn't---" realizing what he said, I immediately tried to said that I didn't order anything but my words were interrupted by a sudden pain. A sharp thing, pierced through my stomach I groaned as I see the blood flowing from my chest. How unfortunate. I wish I had treasured my life more. In the middle of losing conciousness, my honest feeling came out If I'll have the chance to live once again, I'll live free and happy. But then when I opened my eyes, I was transported into Princess Ledecia's body - a villainess from my favorite novel!

Terrence's voice was awfully icy and resolute. "The female supporting lead, Yvonne Lynn, was supposed to be the one enduring the torment. I had no choice but to let Quinn shoulder this burden in order to save Yvonne's life. "Besides, Quinn is this world's female lead. She has the blessings of the Narrative, so there's no way any harm will come to her. "Once I'm done with this mission, I will be able to stay in this world forever. When the time comes, I'll make sure to make amends to Quinn properly." I was completely heartbroken at that moment. When I saw the villains approaching me once again, I completely gave up on fighting back.

In my previous life, I had been suffering from a terminal illness when I won the lottery.  To my shock, Mommy advised me to forgo treatment and leave the winnings to my younger brother, David, to use for his marriage.  I refused to become an accessory to his future, so, behind my parents’ backs, I donated every bit of it to an orphanage.  When they found out, they were furious.
