I gave an excuse but he snorted. "Hmm. Yeah, right." "Everyone is looking at us." I complained before burying my head in his chest. "I don't care. Why are the offices too far anyway?" He complained, "and where are the nurses who are supposed to be all around at all times?" He complained again. "Nurses don't move around as often as you imagine. They have stations. Each floor does. If they are here, it's because they are heading somewhere." I corrected him. He was only speaking out of pain and anger for me.

She's good, and more importantly, she listens to my instructions, i'm thinking of having her work at the house for two to three times her pay until the girls are older. A few minutes later, the nurse arrives, accompanied by one of my men who calls out to me. No one notices, they're all chatting away and laughing about how I acted like I was carrying the babies sometimes. Outside the room, the nurse is fidgeting, scared. "What?" I ask, scared of what could have rattled her. She was supposed to bring the babies and yet I don't see a single baby in sight, only an iPad. "The baby is missing," she stutters. "I–"

She excitedly clapped her hands and ran outside the room but a mid-aged lady stopped her, it was Nancy, the nurse from the hospital. “Sorry Ceyda… but doctor strictly forbid you to run initially” – she smiled “Nancy? What are you doing here?” – Ceyda smiled and hugged her “Mr. Francisco hired me as your private nurse until you fully recovered.” – Nancy replied “Oh…Nancy, I’m so happy” – she chuckled and hugged her again “But what about your kids?” – Ceyda broke the hug and asked “I’m for few days and my working hours are fixed, I’ll leave at evening daily” – she replied

I said to Nurse Ella, “Get everything ready as usual, I will get ready now.” “Yes, Doc.” “And lastly, you are doing well.” “Thank you, doctor, I am glad I am working under you, I will make sure I get nurses that won’t bother you in the theatre.” “Good.” She walked away. I like working with Nurse Ella, she is a single mother and despite that, she is very serious about her duty here and has no time to flirt, one thing I like so much about her, I wish other ladies could take after her. I hate it when one places fun before work, as a medical personnel, saving lives comes first before any other thing can be added to it.

The door opened. The nurse who came in was a woman I had not seen before, someone from the evening shift taking over from the day staff. She was efficient and unhurried and she moved around the bed checking the IV line and the monitoring connections and looking at the readout with the focused attention of someone doing a job they knew how to do. She glanced between Tristan and me with the practiced neutrality of hospital staff who have worked in obstetric units long enough to understand that the people in these rooms are frequently in complicated circumstances and that the job is to manage the clinical situation without editorializing the personal one. She made a note on her tablet.

"Get ready to drive as soon as I get back. Got it?" Charis nodded. --- Fanny was exhausted. She was working a 12-hour shift in the ICU at the hospital and was about to go home to sleep when the head nurse found her and told her that one of the nurses was sick and they were short on staff. She couldn't believe she was strapped into another long night of people being brought in and out of the hospital as she sat outside under the artificial light of a street lamp and took another bite of an apple. She was only allowed to rest for 10 minutes before having to return to work.

Her eyes widened slightly when she saw the two men. "Oh! I’m sorry," she said, placing a hand over her chest. "I didn’t expect visitors at this hour." David and Matthew both looked up as they saw the nurse enter with a tray. "Good day, Sirs. I’m Nurse Angela. I came to give Dr. Emma her medication and check her vitals. It’s all part of her regular care." Matthew nodded while David watched her closely as she moved around the room, preparing an injection and gathering fresh gauze and antiseptic. She walked over to Emma’s bedside with the injection.

A nurse comes into the room. “I am glad to see you are awake. Could I make you a cup of coffee?” She asks in a sweet friendly voice. Eric looks at her and nods. The nurse busies herself with making a cup of coffee and when done, turns and hands it to Eric. “Doctor asked me to check on you regularly and inform him when you are awake. I will go tell him that you are now awake. Is there anything else I could do for you?” She asks. When Eric shakes his head silently, she turns and leaves the room.

’ I snapped but with a chuckle to it. ‘Fine, I’ll wait till you are back,’ he agreed with me. ‘Thank you, gotta go.’ “Luna! So glad you came, we have two patients here. One with a flu and the other one has not been checked up,” a nurse walked up to me. “Can you handle the one with the flu?” I asked her, switching to healer mode immediately and talking much more professionally. “Yes, we already have given her some drugs. We just thought you could–”

“I just… I don’t know how to keep going if he doesn’t wake up. He’s my only family, Bia.” Her fingers tightened around mine. “Then we hold on. Together. We don’t stop hoping. Not now.” Just then, the door creaked open and a nurse entered the room, clipboard in hand, her footsteps soft on the tile. “Excuse me, ladies. Just checking vitals and giving the next dose of medication,” she said politely. We stepped back, hands still clasped, as she moved to Eli’s bedside. She worked quickly, checking numbers, adjusting tubes and wires. Her brows furrowed slightly at something on the monitor, but she masked it with calm professionalism.
