The cries came harder then, his whole frame shaking, as his fists clenched the thin sheet.
The nurse grabbed a box of tissues from the counter and shoved it toward him. “Enough with the tears,” she said, not unkind but firmly. “You don’t need that right now. Focus on healing, eat well and rest up. All those injuries on your body, they won’t fix themselves.”
I sat there, glued to the screen, my blood starting to boil as I watched that damn nurse lean in too close to Ronan. She was acting all soft, like he was some fragile thing that needed coddling.
