I loved my hair even though sometimes it was a pain in the arse. I was turning eighteen tomorrow. That age is significant as that is the age where you can meet your mate. My friends Lisa and Benji turned eighteen this week also. Every month different packs come together on different pack lands so their young can meet other wolves and hopefully they will meet their mate. This month it was being held here, thank goodness I didn't want to go anywhere else just to find my mate. It was happening this month tomorrow too. Great birthday present for me.

Third day of the first week; students still feels lazy because of the vacation-season residue. Classes are also going lightly so far. The coldness in the air is slowly leaving the atmosphere. Traces of snow can still be seen in some places, but the roads are mostly clear. Landon woke up earlier than usual. His first two days in high school is like walking back and forth through hell. God knows how many times he wanted to tell someone how hurt he is. Whenever he look at his father, he wanted to hug him and cry.

He tried to help with the healing but there is only so much you can do when your parents keep re-opening them. Sighing, I finished grabbing all the herbs and spice I needed and made my way back inside. It was starting to get quite chilly and in two weeks, October will be here. In Montana, the winter comes early and most Halloween are white. I am not a huge fan of snow but I don’t hate it either. I was pretty wobbly on my feet but managed to make it inside.

Rhea introduced herself. "And the last but not the least! My name is Jordan! Aka Summer's most gorgeous friend ever! But you can call me Jor or Dan for short! Maybe we can be friends so that I can teach you sense of—ouch!" He didn't finished his speech because Rhea smacked the back of his head. Greka raised an eyebrow at him and her attention went back on me. 'can I kill him?' she mouthed and I glared at her.

No animal dared to enter his domain, including the grizzlies that occupied the area ever since he battled the one that previously claimed the cave as home. The moon was full and shined brightly in the black sky. Kaynon lifted his head to stare into its light, feeling its mighty pull and relishing in its power. Closing his eyes, he took a deep inhale of the crisp air signifying the imminent return of autumn, and the anniversary of his pack's death. Their screams still haunted him and kept him up most nights. Another day of redemption tomorrow. He thought to himself before drifting off into a dreamless slumber. *******************************

After reading for some time he turned and frowned to see the cover page. "October breeze'. Is this the title." he asked in amusement. I nodded enthusiastically. "And may I know what this means." he questioned, cocking an eyebrow. I smiled and took his hand in mine. "Do you know what the speciality of October is?" I asked. "Of course. In that month na, we both got married." he replied excitedly with shining eyes. "Ya the special day of our life and this October signifies our marriage day and breeze....it refers to you Rohan." I said looking at him lovingly.

"The wolf moon has passed us already. If nothing has changed by the night of the Hunter's moon, both Kaden and his pack will fall." I widened my eyes. The Hunter's moon, it was also known as the dying moon, it was in October. Which was also the month of my birth, I would be turning nineteen by then. What was I supposed to do? Did I really believe that the midnight pack was under a deadly curse? What if this woman was just crazy and wanted me to risk my life just for her own benefits.

“Now I’m old enough to potentially be chosen. You see, your aunt Kinshra is believed to have been one of the hunters, which may explain her incredible hearing. Did she still not tell you any of this?” Emory shook her head. She barely remembered the night of the last ceremony because nothing notable happened. Crouched on her aunt’s porch, her knees drawn up to her chest, Emory had watched the Hunter’s Moon descend behind a foggy horizon. The last Hunter’s Moon fell on her sixteenth birthday, marking her one year in Broiia. Her memory of the lanterns floating across the sky was what remained. “I’ve asked her dozens of times but she’s never answered.”

Majesta smiled, petting Midnight. They both laughed. Midnight found his way to the back of the couch. Lying there with his paws under him, looking like he owned the place. If she had the camera, she would have taken a picture. She still really missed Pumpkin, but Midnight tried hard to fill the hole in her heart. “I was thinking November, but I really like the leaves in October.” Majesta told her as she twisted her hair. “Hmm, I think October would be better, fewer people to say they can’t come because of Thanksgiving. Plus, you would be showing about that time.” Amèliä pointed out with a smile.

We put flowers on the balcony, a worn sofa in the living room, and her favorite dishes in the kitchen. On our wedding day, Chloe held my hand on stage and said: “From now on, no matter what happens, we trust each other first. We talk first.” I nodded. “No secrets. No running. We won’t let anyone hurt us with lies.”
