A burning sensation suddenly appeared in his left chest. "Ah!" Raven winced. The burning sensation came so suddenly that it brought him to his knees. He clutched his chest. His heart was beating very fast. Dum! Dum! Dum! It was as if something had come to life inside him. The heat intensified. The skin on his left chest began to glow faintly. Raven's eyes widened. "What is this?" He tugged at his collar. Under the moonlight, a strange symbol slowly appeared on his skin. It resembled a circle with a wolf-claw pattern.

It stopped halfway, it’s feathers fluttering to the ground as it grew and morphed into— “Jude?” Standing where the raven had once been, wearing a black t-shirt and pair of grey sweats, was Jude. In the dark, with only the moon providing light, the tattoos along his arms, hands, and neck stood out brightly. The scar slashed down his eye rippled as he cocked his head.

I smiled Internally, he buried his face in my neck sniffing like his life depended on it. I opened my eyes slowly and gasped immediately at what I saw. I have never seen my mate without clothes but today he was bare from waist to chest and I was shocked because he has tattoos on his body. Do werewolves get tattooed, I thought that was only for humans. His tattoo was so beautiful and creative, a big tattoo of a raven was drawn on his hand and some ancient word on his belly. He was still holding me tightly, his hand was just between my lower back and ass, my thoughts wandered back to the incident that happened at the balcony.

“Bring the Black Coast shipment codes, the account access, and every fucking file you stole.” A sob caught painfully in my throat. I saw the head of a raven on his chest, its wings stretching toward his collarbone, and the runes that trailed down his ribs. He looked like the warrior he was, someone built for violence and chaos. I lay back on the bed, my breath coming in shallow, jagged hitches, watching him with a mixture of terror and a hunger that felt like a physical ache in my chest.

I said, moving to sit across from him. His brow furrowed. “Would you ever leave me alone?” he muttered, and I smirked. “Of course not! That’s why I’m here to help.” I cut straight to the point, crossing my legs. Even though Arden appeared to be the most ruthless and powerful among the three of us, I knew he carried inner burdens that he had been shouldering alone. And his health was one of them. His anxiety gnawed at his wolf, driving him feral whenever it overwhelmed his emotions.

Standing I get ready and they follow. Walking in I don’t bother with anything, I go straight to my room, closing and locking the door. The closer I come, I want to touch it. Visions of the wings wrapping around me, never allowing me to escape, consume my thoughts. I look up at Raquel and shiver, not understanding how a tattoo could be so powerful.

I have neither because not only should no one know of my existence and lineage, but I was supposed to die that night seventeen years ago. The tattoo I have on my wrist is of Odin's rune, which means the training I received and rites I have undertaken surpass all others, even Aleksander's. My mark tells him he just barely has power over me because if I wanted to, I could challenge his position and take everything from him, too.
