Steven just nodded, as if he already knew but wanted to hear it out loud. The elders started calling him “Old Soul.” He remembered everything. Words he overheard weeks earlier. Names of long-dead wolves he read about in scrolls. Sometimes, he used words I didn’t even know. I should have been concerned. But I wasn’t. I was proud. That night, I found my father and Steven beneath the old oak at our backyard. The stars were out. Steven was leaning against Tyson’s arm, small and still, staring up at the sky. “He’s going to be more than you imagined,” Tyson said without looking at me.

Antonia replied flatly, her voice smooth and entirely devoid of any past attachment. "I am here to execute an international merger, not to chase ghosts. Let’s get our notes ready for section five." Monica stood frozen, a cold chill of goosebumps breaking out across her arms. She realized with a sinking wave of dread that while Portia was still drowning in the unhealed trauma of the past, Antonia had genuinely, irreversibly crossed the bridge to the other side of their inverse universe. Once again, a suffocating wave of guilt flowed all over Monica, heavy and crushing. The clinical coldness in Antonia’s eyes was more terrifying than any scream of anger.

He kept pouring them tea with respect as if he was worried about rubbing Kayson the wrong way. 20 minutes later… A man with a portly figure stormed in. He was wearing glasses, and his face was grim. “Uncle Arthur!” Steven hurriedly ran up to him. A hint of resentment crossed his eyes as he darted a hateful gaze at Kayson.

He continues, pulling out a small pair of earbuds linking to his chest. Shantal, now saddened, nods her head slowly, now falling on to Steve. He catches and holds her, slightly warming himself up. Shantal starts to cry, asking Steve the question: "Why does everyone I know die?" Steve lowers his volume and whispers to her: "You know me, and I am not dead. Neither is Trevor nor my father." Shantal chuckles a little bit. "I suppose you're right." She says, now wiping the tears from her eyes and starting to smile. "I guess sleeping in the same bed as you won't be too bad after all.

Moving away from the group to a table beside the table I see him go through a bag that’s there. “Hello Meri, I’m Steven, do you mind if I approach?” he asks as he looks at me. Confused as to what was going on, I looked to Ericson and my dad, they nodded insured that it was safe, so I nod in turn. Seeing it he approaches me. Though as he approaches me, I see he looks familiar. “Meri, I would like you to meet my older brother Steven. Plus, he is the doctor that looked you over when we got here. If he causes you any discomfort, tell me and I will put fire ants in his pants.”

"What's going on here, Dylan? Have you gotten too bored with your nice, cushy life? How dare you ambush Mr. Cole like this and even demand that he break his arm?" Steven snarled, glaring at Dylan. His army green uniform made him look even more formidable, and the warning in his tone sent shudders down Dylan's spine.

"What do you think?" My fork nearly slipped from my hand. "Mommy, that's embarrassing. I don't want a match." "Just get to know him," she insisted gently. "If you don't like him, then that's perfectly fine." "The young man is the son of my closest friend," Uncle Greg added. "He studied in Switzerland too. His name is Sean. He's polite, well-mannered, a true gentleman. Theo knows him well, right, Son?" At that, I finally looked at Theo. I was not mistaken. There was something dark in his expression, something sharp. Annoyance flickered across his face before he could hide it.

David greeted and Steven smirked. "Hey, you too! Took you long enough." Steven spoke out loud, unbeknownst to him, and his mother and David's, Alice, and the Doctor jumped back. All eyes are on Steven as he converses with a being they couldn't see. Steven looked happy as they watched him. His mother was crying, everyone was crying. They all wondered if he was running mad. "That was a nice joke you played on me, what were you thinking about writing me a sad letter like that." Steven watched as a sad line crossed David's face. He didn't like that. "What's wrong?" Steven asked reaching his hand up to have them rest in David's hair.

“Sophie, I hope you don’t mind. My friends and I have taken over your party. You young ones can still have fun though, don’t mind us.” I gave him a warm smile. “That’s alright… D–Dad.” My face burned. It sounded awkward calling him that when I was used to calling him old man. Steven let out a chuckle. “You can call me old man the way you used to… there’s no difference.” “Okay, old man,” I replied sheepishly. “You’re a lucky man, Steven. Your son got himself a beautiful wife. You did well to not let her land in others' hands because I would have introduced her to my grandson,” Christine Livingstone, one of Steven’s friends, said.

Asked Steven. "You gonna know my plan soon. I know you still want to f*ck her ass. Don't forget she's your stepsister. You can do it slowly with her." He flashed him a smile. "Whatever! I'm not sure if I'm still going to do that. Dad, I need to get to somewhere right now. I will call Beatrice to take care of you." Steven left the house. ~~~~~~~~~~ Somewhere in Italy, "He's alive!
