Office Gray says, bowing slightly alongside his partner before they both walk back to their car. I stare once again at the once upon a time vibrant environment that is now clouded with smoke and darkness. A tired sigh escapes my lips when I realise that this may actually just be the beginning. I know it's weird but I just have this feeling that the worst is yet to come and the truth is, the thought of it alone scared me like nothing else.

I can't be a swayable hot head that focuses on my high school status. As I make my way towards Chloe's room, I try to open the wall I accidentally slammed down on my wolf. They get out of the car and Owen carries Chloe out. Chloe regains consciousness as Owen lays her on the ground. She startles in fear as she sees Owen and Blake. “Where did you bring me to?” Chloe says as she starts to sob. Owen tuts, “Shhhhh” Owen gestures to Chloe to keep quiet as he places his index finger over his lips.

“I knew the challenges I would face when I realized you are the Alpha.” Silence followed again. This time, it was not uncomfortable, it was heavy and Evans slowly shifted his gaze back to Jasmine’s. That was when he noticed how close they were, the warmth radiating from her encircled him even though the air of the night was cool. Suddenly, the car stopped. Both turned their gazes to Ophelia. “We are in Silver City,” she declared dryly. Evans looked outside, but he did not realize they had arrived in the city so quickly. CHAPTER 3 13 months ago Oswald scanned the narrow street carefully, making sure to see no one had been on his tail. He pulled the cloak closer to himself as he trotted down an alleyway lined with algae. He watched children play with 'snowballs' and wrestle themselves in their wolf form. He watched a woman tendering to the apple tree just outside her house. He was yanked off the alleyway almost immediately, and he found himself inside a dark room, and his supposed captor closing the door quickly.

Wale unbuckled quietly, slid to the floor between seats. Space was tight knees bumping metal. He looked up at Chino eyes dark, daring. Chino glanced around: nobody watching. Nodded once.
