Ominous Drawing Novels & Stories

It just fascinates me to no end. “The picture is incredible.” The girl sits down beside me. “May I take a closer look?” I hesitate before I hand her the book. I have never shown anyone other than Alec my work before. She studies the picture, running her hand over the scene lightly as if she is afraid her touch would somehow ruin the image. In the drawing, I depicted a colonial woman being hung as her family weeps at her feet. Children with tears on their scrunched-up faces. A man, his head bowed, his body bent over with grief. It's one of the better pictures that I've drawn and I'm kind of proud of it.

As I bent down to pick it up, I realised it had fallen open to a specific page. The illustration staring back at me held me in place like a beast with its claws in my chest. It was a drawing of a monster with long, dried-up black hair, claw-like nails, and prominent fangs. Below the drawing was a single red drop of blood, as if it were dripping from the fangs. I narrowed my eyes, trying to decipher the ancient, jagged writing that surrounded the drawing:

Chloe’s hands balled into trembling fists as she stared at the canvas. It wasn't a happy family portrait. It was a depiction of hell. In the center of the paper, Liam had drawn three figures, but they weren't people. Two of them were towering "monsters," and the third was a small, broken boy cowering in a dark corner. The first monster was a man with eyes the size of saucers, wearing a tattered T-shirt. In one hand, he brandished a heavy belt; in the other, a glowing cigarette butt that he was pressing toward the crying boy on the ground.

He was too handsome for an ugly person like me. I looked away from them. On my way home, I spot an elderly guy with a huge sign along the road, written, "Beware of the beast who hides in human skin that walks among us." I didn't understand why I was so frightened when I read it. Briggs, the elderly guy, was insane; he lost his mind when his daughter went missing. Nothing he wrote on that piece of cardboard was sane. Arriving home, I went straight to my room and locked myself in. I sat at my desktop and typed in the search engine, "Beast who hides in human skin."

'This is even better than any type of drawing you have seen in recent times,' Dominus said intentionally prolonging the reveal. The piece I'd studied in art history, dreamed about seeing in person. It was… "The drawing of the Necromancer by Hilbert Phillips…" I whispered slowly, following the host's words like we had spoken in sync, I felt Damon's eyes staring at me, and I turned to look at him, my eyes still widened at the Necromancer drawing in front of me. "That is the Necromancer drawing, one of the best drawings in the world, so filled with science, art and so much more, they say the drawing makes you see it in a thousand forms, this is art with science combined..."

Lane yelled, but Gendry was already dead. After taking a deep breath, everyone looked at the drawing. It was a humongous figure, capable of standing up like a human, but had an extremely menacing and hideous face. It was as though its face had been burned. "What is that? An alien?" "I don't know…” "What could it be?" Nobody could identify the horrifying monster Gendry had drawn. It looked like a being of pure evil. Rozi's expression changed when she saw the drawing.
