Elara let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding and stood to open the door. Ella's sharp eyes assessed her. "Why do you look like that? Didn't you sleep?" "I'm fine," Elara whispered weakly. "No, you're not," Ella replied, stepping into the room and closing the door behind her. "I heard you last night. You were crying." Elara lowered her head. "It was nothing." Ella's arms crossed over her chest. "Nothing doesn't make a girl cry until morning."

Phillip's heart stopped. Ella wore a cream-colored gown embroidered with pale gold thread in the shape of flying swallows. The lamplight gleamed favorably on the crown of her gold hair, and the loose locks had been pulled back into a Grecian style. Gold satin ribbons were threaded through her hair as a sort of headband. Jewels glinted off the ribbon, calling more attention to her hair and face.

Moving aside the last seascape, Ella gasped and covered her mouth as she took in the image of a beautiful young woman. Her eyes were dark brown, as was her hair. She had a sadness about her that Ella couldn’t quite describe, as if she were about to cry but was fighting through it. She wore a red sleeveless top with ornate embroidery that Ella imagined might be a formal gown. Small golden earrings peeked out from between her dark locks.

"I need you to help me get dressed, Princess Lily needs me. I don't know what she's planning this time." "That girl has problems, I don't know what's wrong with her. Anyway, let me get you ready so you can go and listen to whatever she's saying," Ella replied. She entered the bathroom as usual and assisted me in getting dressed. In less than thirty minutes, I was all dressed up. "How do I look?" I inquired, glancing at Ella who seemed lost in thought. She suddenly responded, "You look perfect, darling. You're ready to go. That troublesome girl probably needs a good scolding to have summoned someone like you from your room," she finished with a chuckle, and we both left the room.

A woman stepped onto the tarmac, her golden-blonde hair whipping in the wind, her eyes shielded by oversized Chanel sunglasses. "Mama! Is this where the bad king lives?" A small boy, barely four years old but with a sharp, familiar jawline, tugged at her trench coat. Beside him, a little girl with a matching face gripped a stuffed rabbit. Elara—now known to the world as Ella V., the Empress of Scents—looked at the skyline of the city that had broken her. "Yes, Leo," she said, her voice like velvet and steel. Ella felt sorry for her and went on to reprimand both Mason and Lilith. She placed her hand on Zoe’s back and said solemnly, “Mia told me all about what happened! You can’t keep playing violin at those places, Zoe. We have to take care of our reputation.” Ella took out a cigarette, lit it, and smoked it. She was a model, so she was exceptionally thin. She looked somewhat charming when she was smoking. It was a captivating look.
